stroke….37 off the bat (8 cap)..2 birdies…..3 bogeys 4 pars…..nice way to start the week…..

How humid was it! I was there at 8.30, and had sweat dripping off me in 20 minutes. Keep getting caught behind the greenskeeper aerating the greens, so had to skip 3 or 4 holes, played average anyway.

yeah he annoyed me too…..he just didnt budge….so i shot a 6 iron as he was looking at me on 13…..it landed near the pin…so it wasnt near him…but geez they can wait

have you seen Ian at the club…a quick lesson – 45 pasos is well worth it…….hes got me to an 8 with a dodgy swing with some tinkering here and there…..

You wouldn’t be the first to get monstered by the Quarry 9 Lucid. Every time I have played it she daks me and gives me a sound slapping.

Had 39 points Saturday (11.5). poor start, but dug my way out. Was apparently leading A Grade up until about 4pm but the current B grade champion and the same guy who knocked me out of the CC playoffs knocked me off again. Dropped 0.4. Edging closer to having a 10 in my cap.

Our first round of our regular season down this way, played pinehurst, what a shit game this is. Came in third place but it was not pretty in any way shape or form.
No golf next week as am off to the Barrosa for a few days R&R on the trike.

With the horrors of Saturday forgotten Sunday brought a new day and a chance to have a good one.
11 of 14 fairways – Pro type stats. Average driving distance 15 metres longer than lifetime average, the big dog was on fire.
GIR 0, yep none nil narda zip! Wedges were no help still blading them or duffing them. Couldn’t buy a putt with a fistful of $50’s making a 2 inch tap in after watching putts roll right to the hole and turn at right angles in the last 6 inches is heartbreaking.

well done tiger….only 30pts for me today , dissapointing really considering how well I was driving, couple of bad 8i and pitches really let me down when it counted

won my second round of matchplay today 5 & 4. Opponent had a bit of an off day tbh but nevertheless through to the 3rd round next week. Also won C-grade for the day.

First round of foursomes championship. Partner & I are coming 3rd with a nett 73 – behind 72 & 70. Our combined hcap is 15 and we managed quite a few pars and a bird. After a 48 on the front 9, it was hard work pulling the score back into line.

Golf’s a funny game from day to day…........had a good day Friday but couldn’t play par golf today. Finished the 9th with a poorly played 9 shots and totalled 45. Played the back 9 hoping to improve but had 3 in a bunker on the 11th. Finished 42 on the back and nett 73 but could have been easily better. Kept my cool fairly well, considering. 29 putts yesterday and 31 today.

Monthly stroke round today. Driving was really good with the exception of 2 wild slices on 17 & 18, but even they went a long way into the trees so distance wasn’t a problem, hee hee. Putting 30 putts not too shabby some really bad misreads that I have still made up for and got the 2 putt, 4 holes in a row with 1 putts. So you would think that I am going to post a respectable number…. Wrong! Take the driving and putting out of the equation and the rest was total rubbish. Carved trenches out of the fairway before the irons were getting to the ball, every wedge in the bag was a blade wedge, until they became the duff wedge, no feel or touch around the greens at all for a very poor 85 nett. Back out there again tomorrow for stebleford, at least I can pick it up and walk away when the shots run out.

what a waste…21 points front nine…one over…played well..

wiped a hole (easist hole on the course) par 3….on 14 then birdie the next hole…then par then double bogey…jekyl and hyde nine

last 3 holes on the second nine hurt…double bogey and bogey on the last was difference between 37 and 40

today i used my blades and for the most part hit some really nice shots…..just two doubles hurt…...anyways enjoyed the day…...rated 71 so stayed the same…....8.0

Played stroke at Cranbourne (Vic) today with my work golf club.

Not really confident as I’ve been playing so badly lately that I’ve slipped out to 14. I was also suffering sciatic nerve pain in my bumb, which kept me awake throughout the night.

Started the first five holes with 5 pars.
6th – Bogey
7th – Triple bogey
8th – Double bogey
9th – Double bogey (3 putts)

44 shots with 16 putts. A little annoyed how I let a good 9 slip.

Started the back 9 with 3 pars. Then :-
13th – birdie
14th – par
15th – bogey
16th – bogey
17th – bogey
18th – par

38 on the back with 13 putts. Nett 68 and won ‘B’ grade monthly medal. I had a lot of luck with some favourable bounces and I put it down to just one of those days. Probably back to 13 soon but the scores wont be on Golf Link for a couple of days.

The question is – Do I play off 13 tomorrow at my home club in the monthly medal or do I play off 14 as it will show on my golf link card, when I swipe it in the morning??????? (Maybe that’s already been addressed on another thread.) :-))

Played at Twin Creeks this morning off the black tees – great course and enjoyed the round immensely.

87 (45/42)
2 birdies, 5 pars, 6 bogeys, 4 double bogeys, 1 triple bogey
6 fairways, 4 GIR, 34 putts

Despite the low fairway %, I was pretty happy with my overall performance off the tee – I’m starting to find some good consistency with my driver and banishing the fade/slice that had been plaguing me for a few months. My irons were generally rubbish though; a few too many pulls left me with some tricky efforts to salvage par, only a couple of which I was able to achieve.

Rested up last weekend after playng 54 holes during the week in the Southern Ports Tournament “C” grade 1/3. 3/3, 5/3/10. Came second, pretty stoked with the result having put in two months getting ready to play. Club season begins this coming weekend with a Pinehurst. First round of Qualifying for Club Handicap Championship in two weeks. Be putting in some dedicated practise for this as i won it last year and would like to defend my title and make the playoffs.

Played pennants on Sunday for the second time and had a win 5 and 3, was great to get a win under the belt, got beat on the 3rd extra play off hole the week before.
Been striking my irons nice for a change , but the bloody driver can come and go in a split second.
If i can get rid of the nerves while putting it would make life a little easier lol.

I got to start playing mid week again. Reading you blokes having 31 points, 14 points, 1 point and 30 lost balls is still better than sitting at work. Might be able to get around in under 5 hours too!!

If it wasn’t for the back nine …...... well you know the story.

Determined not to let it get the best of me though, and have thought of playing the back nine first, but I’ll get there, it’s just a matter of time, and I’ll beat the bugger.

I think it is more a mental approach, rather than anything technical as the two nines are not that different. Looking back, on the front nine, I’m thinking attack and birdie, whereas on the back I’m thinking defend and play safe.

Time to change the couple of inches between the ears, and have another go at it.

Played Waterford Valley on Sunday.

Started with a bogey, then pars until the 4th when I got it back with a tap in birdie. Another par followed and then birdied the par 5 6th to be one under, then bogeyed nine to be even at the half way point.

Walked past the car and thought “Should I call it quits now?” but went ahead.Quick coffee and ham and cheese sanga and then the back nine.

Suffice to say the back nine was bogey golf. Finished at nine over.

That now makes it the last four rounds at Waterford.

Front Nine – PAR on all four ocassions.
Back nine – 7 over, 9, over, 7 over, 9 over.
