Wynnum will work well for you by the sound of it mate.
It’s always in good nic, members are friendly(I was a member there for 5 years prior to moving to SA), great bunch of guys in the pro-shop.
Sure, it’s a little short, but an easy walk and easy to get on for 9 if you’re a shift worker.
Great option if you’re at Cannon Hill.

Thanks to all for the info, sorry if I’ve wedged open a can ‘o worms on this.
For the past 2 years I’ve been playing with a set custom made to my specs by Golf Club Innovations in Brisbane. As I no longer live in QLD I’m just chasing getting lies & lofts checked, I’m not interested in any wholesale changes to equip.

$120, yeah I’ve heard of that. Some refund that though if/once you purchase from them.
Problem is some golfers go to clubfitters to get their required specs, don’t purchase, then use those specs when ordering elsewhere.

End of the day $60,$65,$75…etc for 30mins is a GREAT price if the lesson achieves what you’re after.
From memory Harvey Pennick said something along the lines of – “a good pro will fix in 30 mins what it would take 6 months of range time for a player to sort out”.

Kempsey GC ain’t too bad, I play it a couple of times per year when back on holidays.Greens are small but usually in good nic, fairways are never patchy. Good mix of holes and the kangaroos add to the scenery.PLUS it’s like $8-10 for all the holes you can play after about 2p from memory.

South West Rocks – better than Kempsey for sure. Worth the trip from Port Mac.

Nambucca Heads – probably the next best on the coast behind Bonville.

Royal Freddo – basic golf – cheap, good fun course.

Ipswich Gc itself runs rings around both imho, and has
a new 9 holes under contsruction under the guidance of Wayne Grady.
That would be my choice.

I’ve also got a IGIO which I use when carrying.

My bad shot with the driver goes left too.
Mine’s low & left but not a ‘hook’ – just that
I’m ‘over the top’ with a closed face at impact, therefore
it doesn’t slice.

Rust causes friction between the clubface and ball, creating a little more spin.
Is that right?

This arguement often comes up.
We gotta remember though that Tour players hit hundreds of balls per day,how much rust do ya reckon stays on a wedge after a serious bunker session??
Rust is purely to reduce glare…..nothing more.
