Topic: Golf Equipment / Most durable premium balls? srixon all the way. the “trispeed” is great if you like the titlest nxt – hits long, very-very durable and only $40 a box. the “z-ur” is good, but a bit too much spin for us higher handicappers |

Topic: Golf Talk / Is Brett Ogle The Worst TV Commentator? he’s alright, give him a break. sure he’s got his own shtick, and it’s painful about half the time, but i’m just happy when i see live golf on tv i don’t really care who’s talking |

Topic: Ask Golf Guru - Golf Instruction / Straight Back, Bum Out yep, the spine bend was from leaning over… by straightening up, it also allows my head to get out of the way, it felt sometimes like i was too close to the ball and hence hit it fat core strength exercises! might stay up late and by an “ab-ersize” or “crunch-magic-machine”...lol |

Topic: Ask Golf Guru - Golf Instruction / Straight Back, Bum Out When I look at snaps of professional’s alignment in golf mags and instructional websites, they all have a straight back (no hunch at the shoulders) and their bums are sticking out a bit. i thought i was pretty straight, but i caught a reflection of my stance in the glass at the range yesterday and found i was slightly hunched and my butt was tucked in as if i was just standing normally. so i straighted up and stuck out my arse and hit the ball much straighter, making more pure contact and not hitting it fat… the problem was, standing like this was much more physically draining than my usual set-up. obviously it will take some time to get used to it, but is that what I should be aiming for? the reason i ask, is that I was always told that comfort and relaxation are paramount and anything that doesn’t feel right is unlikely to help in the longer term. advise, comments appreciated… wedge. |

Topic: Your Favourite Golf Courses / Moonah Links Open Course open course is long and a bit same-ish throughout. the par 3’s are nothing to write home about IMO. the 18th is an amazing hole however. legends course is great fun however, i actually think it got the better piece of land, but it’s tucked into the forest more, which means they couldn’t clear it for spectactors etc as the open course was designed to host the australian open |

Topic: Golf Talk / well done angel i thought cabrerra was great to watch all weekend. his huge drives, swift clumsy wedge shots and steely putting stroke added a bit of colour to what is usually pretty routine watching. good on him for smoking on course and on prime time USA tv and also for not trying to speak english (which they would of definitely pushed him to do at the ceremony). the back 9 looked amazing on tv, the front, not so much. bring on carnoustie for the highlight of my golfing year. |

Topic: Golf Equipment / Mizuno mx-23 vs mx-25 i’m thinking about the mx-25’s…can get them for about $880 new from USA but there are quite a few mx-23’s around…good quality used for about $500 delivered. is the mx-25 that much of an improvement? |

Topic: The Lounge / Betfair.com anyone use betfair for online punting? i just joined us this week to punt on the us open. the whole bet/lay concept is neat and i think it offers a level of flexibility for golf in particular as the odds can really evolve over the weekend. |

Topic: Golf Talk / shots into the wind i did it once at barnbougle into the howling wind of the very short par 3 7’th… landed it flush on the green by playing a gentle 7 iron off my back foot. the hole is only 110m or so. haven’t been able to do anything nearly as sexy since. |
