If the price we paid, $21, plus $15 for a cart, is the standard price, this is just about the best value for a quality course in NSW.

We all agreed it was worth a return visit, hopefully in calmer conditions.

The other highlights: Grant won a breakfast tray in the meat raffle, and we met the legendary golfgirl (Jodie).

Glad that you had a nice day. Bit suprised to hear that I have been elevated to lengendary status - but thanks anyway! 8O

The price isn't normally that price - I had some vouchers to give to you before you teed off. But even at the normal rates, it is a great course, although you will rarely ever catch it in calmer conditions. :wink: (The scores were not that tragic for first timers... that is about the normal scores that people post the first time they play - local knowledge goes a long way... :wink: )

Yep - I'm in on this one - will have hubby and Amanda put their heads together and sort out the finer details... thanks Amanda - you're a champ...

Fairways are a little bare at present because of the lack of moisture - but the greens are terrifyingly fast... 8O (Particularly the ninth... nasty bit of work :twisted: )

The correct form is to allow someone else to post about it and then briefly play it down as simply being a lucky shot. But I allowed it on this occasion as holing out on a par four is a rare occurrence, as opposed to some doofus holing a short iron on a par three, which happens all the time.

Once again my apologies for not being able to attend, after beginning what was meant to be a packed Vardon schedule, I picked up the trainee job at Nowra Golf Club and had to pack up and head South!

Congratulations Glenn... I was at Nowra the other day, but didn't know that you were... although, I only spoke with the pro there (he seemed to be in the shop on his own). I'm sure that we will bump into each other soon... :wink:

Tips I got recently:

When playing into the wind, take more club, swing easier; playing downwind, take less club hit harder. Sounds completely back to front, but apparently has to do with spin on the ball and optimising ballflight and distance... :? Learn to play bump and run shots around green rather than lobbing ball up in air...

Played singe Par event yesterday in rainy, windy, cold conditions. I ended up -5, which sounds bad, but in actual fact I was playing better golf than I have been for weeks. Just had trouble closing out - the last three holes here are a killer. :?

The weather has not been kind to me though - I woke up with black eyes and a face full of sinus this morning. And the wind is still howling outside... 8O

I start pennant season on Monday week... I'm excited - this is my first ever pennants...

Oh! And I got asked to join the ladies committee yesterday - how do I keep getting myself invloved in these things... :roll:

Higher markers must sometimes get frustrated at not contributing much to the team effort.

Frustrated? Not really - I always bring my massive amount of handicap as my contribution. Then I cap it off with a couple of 200m drives off the red tees, usually when they are a hundred metres forward of the men's tees, and throw in the odd 20 foot putt as well. :mrgreen:

Or at least, this is how my team got to a Holden Scramble regional final... shame the formula went out the window once we got there... :roll:

Funny, I was just saying the same thing to my husband yesterday after watching my 2 yo sinking 10 foot putts like they were tap-ins. 8O :?

I never picked up a golf club till I was in my late twenties, and I'll have to give up playing in another 5 years because my son will be so much better than me that a) it will be embarassing, and I'll be too busy caddying for him to play golf for myself... 8O

Two days in a row now, I have gotten up late (alright - I slept in, but who can blame me? When toddler sleeps - so do I!), and have turned the TV on to the sights of artistic shots of trees and ducks... :?

What is going on!! Will they ever finish this tournament... I hear that they haven't even finished the 3rd round, let alone the 4th. :roll:
