Played club handicap matchplay and really very pleased at how I buckled down. Driving was off all day, but it helped force me to concentrate on advancing the ball and keeping the pressure on. Very pleased with how I handled it all and ended up coming away with a win 4 & 3. Don’t know how it would have added up if it were a normal comp – quite an adjustment to have no real idea of how you are scoring relative to par.

not a good day out..started out great with a good swing and some
awesome putts. ended 16/7 split with 23 overall.

played my 3rd comp 1st time par..finished up -1 was fairly happy with how i played.

To be honest peaksy…I really struggled all day – but scrambled really well early and kept bogeying for 2 points on holes 1-7, got a 3 point par on 8 and a 3 point bogey on 9.

3 wipes on the back 9 – which I was lucky to escape on the front.

So all in all….34 was probably about right.

Shot more than 36 points in an OOM day….seriously.

Scrounging is good G-, gives you confidence that you don’t have to be at your best to score ok. Convert your wipes to 1 point, a couple of 1’s to 2’s etc and you end up scoring really well without realising it. Unless your luck involved stupidly good bounces, it’s actually good play to score from bad positions.

Worst game in five years since taking up the game,
Had a lesson Wednesday with some major changes.
Was embarrassed out there today, an absolute hack.
Lots of range time needed now, just to build the slightest confidence up.
Hopefully one step back then two forward.
Won’t play comp again till I am confident where it is a heading.
Played 11 over my HC. Ouch!!!!

Best drive of the day was nailed, too long 5 feet off fairway on a rock hard clay lie, with stones embedded in it.

Par today -1 which means I’ve improved 15 strokes since the last time I played par. Played O.K. including a great bunker shot that went in for 2 a +.

Good start on the handicap G-, just think what will happen if you play more golflink rounds!

I worked today, and would have much preferred to be playing golf, even if I was atrocious. The old saying about worst day at golf is better than best day at work may not be totally true, but a shit day at work is easily bettered by any sort of day at golf.

Today was a good day.
Played at Waterford Valley in their comp.
Hit 11 fairways and 11 greens.
Had 3 up for the day, was the outright comp winner and finally got back into single figures

Steve in our group attempted to mark his ball 3 times on 13, it did eventually stop halfway down the green. I spent all day Friday figuring out how to attack the putt on the 9th from different parts on the green.dont know whether it was a combo of pin spots and greens were too fast or just ordinary locations?????

Dad was on the top shelf of 9 and just missed the putt and watched it roll all the way down to just stay on.
I laughed out loud :)
but then on 13, I was on the top, my putt shaved the hole, but then had a chip back up from well passed the front bunker – I got up and down though. Dad made a point that he didn’t laugh at my misfortune, then he did the exact same putt, it all but stopped beside the hole and ever so slowly trickled down off the green as well, we all laughed

Well I finally done it!!!!! I won the B grade nett prize in the Medal round this weekend. It wasn’t without a battle though. There were some very average strokes played, poor drives and a visit over the fence and also one into a hazard, not forgetting a four putt after being 200 out from a drive on our par 5.
43 ( 36 ) out and 42 (34) in. 85 gross 67 nett. Lost .5
Didn’t figure it would be close but as it turned out it was enough.
Highlight of the day was winning the match play against the 3 and 9 marker twice!!!! ( foolishly they pulled the chain, with two holes to play ). Awesome day on the course so bring on club champs as this will be the first time I play in these.

After battling around for the last two months, finally things came together and had a better round.

TOTAL Putts 36, 97 Shots, Net 70

Went out today with wanting to have a bit of fun..targeted 3 holes to try out stuff (not gripping down on Driver and using 4wood on the fways)
I am happy with the way things progressed, mainly my temperament.
Putting was a bit woeful on the first 9 and got better on the next 9.
Driver wasn’t all good and iron play felt so much better.

My first match play game, our club vs another, me vs another player
He was 20 handicapper, I get a HC after this game just done

After the first 9 I was down 5-3, played some really awful shots.

2nd 9 I decided to sort it out, and concentrated and relaxed.
I won 4 of the next 6 games, tied the two others.

Was two ahead going into the final 3 rounds.
Lost the 16th due to my opponent making some nice shots
Teed off at the 17th into the water, lost that hole
Tied with the 18th hole to decide it
Nearly went into the water off the tee, missed it by a few feet, 20m chip to the hole

Chipped onto the green, luckily my opponent hit too long across the green and I won the hole by a stroke

My first match play game and got up, what a buzz on both fronts

Played my C grade match play final. Was supposed to be finished in early March, but, due to weather and other comps didn’t get to play the final till yesterday. My hc had come in to 17 where my opponent was on 22 so had to give him 5 shots. I played one of my worst rounds ever, lost 6 balls either ob or water. Just couldn’t get it together. Lost 4 & 3, some important lessons learned for sure.

Had my worst round in 6 months, felt like I hit every tree on the course! Net 94, grrrrr..

Front 9, hit the ball well, didn’t get the rub of the green (literally) had 43 for 16 points. Back 9 hit the ball horrendously but got lucky 42 for 16 points.

Monthly medal at The Marsh today. Back was knackered going in, and I may have had some questions to answer if subjected to a urine test.

Realised after about 3 holes round was completely shot (about 8 over the ledger). Decided to just have some fun and smash the cover off the little bastard. Finished net 77, perhaps should have smashed it from the get go…
