Topic: Golf in Perth The Vines is okay, if you only can play a couple of rounds, I wouldn’t really play there. It’s nice but it’s not a “must play”. |

Topic: Best driver of 2013
I so agree max wife has me doing 2 sessions a week my golf is starting to see the benfits at holes 14-18 is when I’m still feeling good big heavy weights are useless flexability and strangth can be had in a slim shape….. Tiger made everyone hit the weights hard thinking we needed size….but he has fast twitch muslce fibreas so he could rotate that size upper body |

Topic: Best driver of 2013
grab a fit ball (the big ball you sit on) yeah those big ones you see chicks using – Put your shoulders on it – feet on the ground and kneees bent grab a 5kg dumbell then rotate it left and right but keeping the feet in the same spot It gets the upper body to use your core to rotate (key to a good swing) a few sit ups and any machine that works the core I need to lose kg’s also so doing lots of treadmill work and stair climber and rower also triceps are important muscles for golf (biceps arent as important so you dont need big guns) back strength, core and thighs are important so I work on those areas… no squats though…they compress the musleces in the lower back and actually reduce flexability with golf you need flexability and strength….you dont want to lose that flexability by adding bulk muscle I look at Dustin Johnson and the guy is just a good athlete and has a frame thats strong but quick – ditto adam scott saw DJ doing the medice ball one plenty of golf fitness Vids on the tube also I also doing some balance exercises to improve in that area…...standing on one foot then rotating the body left and right but keeping the foot straight – you need a mirror for it. the guys at snap fitness have devised the program for me generally lots of light weights and lots of reps and cardio this one is quite good https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vooxDe7Mf98 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9rVl7TFa_jM this one has the exercise I was mentioning https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jE-9Xz7Ptd0 love snap fitness as its open 24/7 so I can go at night when the kids have gone to bed…and they have foxrtel so I watch Golf on the treadmills alos this one has just been added by Mark Crossfeild..works on the hip flexor area https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_MB7rt9NyHg plus just eat less shit food….... anyways sorry to railroad the driver thread… play on |

Topic: Best driver of 2013 Kind of night & day matey, the Xtreme comes out a lot lower than the x hot in the same loft & with usually less spin. The x hot heads are much lighter due to having no adjustable weights. Quite a loud noise at impact with the x hots being titanium, the Xtreme is very muted. Both are great bats just depends on what you like. |

Topic: Best driver of 2013 Loving the Ping G25 Dave what gym work are you doing for strength or cardio work? But I want to do strength work, so interested in what others do, as it must have a huge impact on swing, repeatability and importantly, control |

Topic: Best driver of 2013 D+ is generally considered low launch/ low spin, maybe try lower the loft on your D2 to 8.75? Do you come down pretty steep on the all? |

Topic: Pros/Cons of heavier/lighter drivers? Fuzzy: To answer your question, yes, you can purchase an shaft adapter from ebay that will allow you to fit a different (non-oem) shaft to your titleist driver head. That is what I did with my driver. You just need to find out the width of the shaft tip, ie.. .335 or .350. The adapters are sold by those two options. You should get the shaft professionally pulled then fitted with the adaptor so you don’t risk damaging it. However, looking at the your current shaft, it is rated as a lowest launch of all the stock shaft options from titleist. Assuming you haven’t done so already, I would suggest changing the setting on your driver to a lower setting. e.g if it is currently set at A1, it may be worthwhile trying “D1”. The new setting will decrease the loft to approx 8.75 deg which ‘should’ help lower your launch angle. |

Topic: Best driver of 2013 I’ve switched from the Cally Xtreme to the Taylormade R1 with an Oban Devotion. I rate the Xtreme massively but felt I had to put great swings on it to get great results but with the R1 I can put good swings on it & still get great results, great swings result in absolute monsters from the tee. I’m waiting on a bunch of R1 tips to play around with a bunch of other shafts to see if they can top the Oban. I know a lot of people aren’t real keen on the graphics but I hardly notice them, smash balls down the fairway all day & you’ll forget they’re there too. I’ve also got an 8.5 X Hot Pro that goes pretty darn good with either a Tour AD BB or Matrix 6Q3 red tie, R1 is in front for me though. I also had a chance to bash a 9.5 RBZ Stage 2 with stock stiff shaft on Saturday, was very impressed, touch high for me but still long as buggery. |
