Topic: Golf Talk / Accounts for wins and balls to be credited to? My club has an account system so balls get credited to it, once it reaches either 12 or 18 they add $3.50 to your balance per ball that way you can buy the balls you want instead of top flite etc or use the balance to buy other stuff. Topic: Golf Talk / Golf in Singapore? Unless you know someone it’s pretty tough as the courses are packed and it’s very expensive on the weekends. You might want to consider a trip to Bintan which could still be expensive or your hotel might be able to organize a game. There’s plenty of ranges in Singapore close to the city. The good news is there’s a few shops in Singapore which sell top quality used gear. Creative Golf by Joe (www.creativegolf.net) is one and there’s a couple in the Far East Shopping Centre near the corner of Scotts and Orchard roads. PT |

Topic: Sports Talk / Greg Norman's Caddy Actually, it may be Linn not Lynn. He’s a very experienced caddy (58 yo) who’s carried for Norman (in the 80s), Curtis Strange, Couples, Payne Stewart, Craig Stadler, Nick Price, Robert Gamez and a few others over time. Here’s a story I found: http://www.golfdigest.com/m... PT |

Topic: Golf Talk / The worst weather you've played in Bandon Dunes in May this year, the temp was about 5*C and started off fine but windy, after 5 holes we got 30+ mph winds with horizontal rain and to top it off we got hailed on 3 times. Never been so glad to get off a course and have a rum and coke. PT |

Topic: Golf Equipment / Newbi New Grip Question You can also use a piece of an old graphite shaft to extend your graphite shafts, just ask your local pro shop if they have any broken shafts. Graphite shaft extenders are a pain as they rarely fit the inside diameter of the shaft where a piece of old shaft will always fit snugly. PT |

Topic: Golf Talk / the best golf tantrum you've seen? Not seen but told by a good mate. A top player (scratch handicap) at a Sydney club who was warned multiple times for club chucking, burying his putter in greens and spitting the dummy was told to play a game with the club president and captain to show he could control his temper or he would serve a long suspension He was in full control the whole round but had a bad score which in the past would have had him blowing up but when the round finished he declined the offer of a drink and went back to his car. He lined all his clubs up with the grips on the gutter, the heads on the road and proceeded to jump on the shafts until every one was either bent beyond repair or broken. Without a word he picked up the damaged clubs, put them in his boot and drove home. PT |

Topic: Golf Equipment / Club Fitter in Melbourne? That’s your choice but as it’s only cosmetic you may be fine with it looking a bit different. Maybe just do 1 or 2 to see how it works out. Also, have you checked the specs to see if the lofts on i10 match the J33 CB ? PT |

Topic: Golf Equipment / Club Fitter in Melbourne? It’s easy but if the Pings don’t have ferrules you may find the prepped section of the shaft tip is too long so it will will stick out above the Ping hosel. PT |

Topic: Golf Equipment / Callaway LR 1200 Rangefinder Keeping them still is always an issue regardless of the model, that’s why “pinseeker” technology is so useful. I did a lot of research and the Callaway units are very expensive, much more so than the original Nikon versions. After a lot of reading I bought a Bushnell Scout 1000 which has exactly the same technology and specs as the Tour V2 but cheaper. Heaps of guys on Golfwrx and GEA have given this model great reviews. I got mine for under $300 shipped to Australia and it works like a charm. The ebay US seller was golfnoptics in Las Vegas. PT |
