JJK, I also use the FG Tour ball, other alternatives are the Callaway Hex Chrome or the Titleist NXT Tour S – all aimed towards less than 100 mph swing speeds, but probably not much difference in price either….

I have been using the Wilson FG Tour ball recently, love the ball but it does seem to be a lot duller than a lot of balls out there..

re the pitch over the Bunker, you need to be thinking about where the ball is going to land not the hole in the ground filled with sand between you and that spot.

I would imagine at your level that Water carries don’t really phase you off the Tee when you have to hit over them, that bunker should be the same, sure we all chunk one now and then but 9/10 times you should be putting it on the Green and landing it within a metre or so of your aimed landing spot. seriously I don’t expect this shot to bother you again!!

Well played Godly, very solid all day, even when I drained putts to put pressure on, you responded like a champ, that 3W was on song and not that short either just quietly….

I should have enforced the Driver off the Tee earlier…..Frank, that’s the key, make him hit Driver not 3W :D

The higher loft on the 3W combined with a slightly shorter shaft gives you more control and less side spin, I used a 3W off the Tee for years until I found a 12Deg D that I liked.

If you hit more fairways with the 3W keep using it….the distance loss wouldn’t be much and playing your 2nd from the short grass makes the game more fun
