Topic: Golf Equipment / Which Driver
The ‘rules’ as compared to conforming equipment are two different things in my book. We all play by the rules in a club competition, that’s why we can compare scores and have a winner etc etc. |

Topic: Golf Equipment / ClubTechnology has come to a Head Even more dribble! Your ‘expert’ opinion resides in your head. The problem you seem to have is the bias to everything LD and as you stated very early on in this thread that golfers owe nearly everything to the sport of LD! What came first the chicken or the egg? You need to get over yourself and just chill. Your reference about yourself not forgetting conjours up a picture of the brain of an elephant (and therefore the body). Anyway, you seem very passionate about your sport and that is great but I don’t think that should extend into being so opinionated. Like I said – chill. It’s not always you versus anyone that doesn’t agree with you and trying to win votes (this ain’t a popularity contest forum!) cheers |

Topic: Golf Equipment / ClubTechnology has come to a Head The pinnacle of any technically oriented sport always filters down improvements to the basic level. Ok, not trying to bring anyone down here but I personally don’t regard LD as the pinnacle of the sport of golf. It is a great twist of the sport but it is far from the pinnacle! If it were the pinnacle (ala F1 of motorsport) then I think the LD guys would be banking the millions not the PGA pros on nearly all tours across the globe. My original comments if read carefully were about normal club golfers (and even the pros) and the technology limits being reached in that realm. I also said that I agreed that the technology maybe moving forward in the LD arena. Please go back and read it before jumping down anyones throat. Heck, if you go back and read your own posts Aussie bomber I think you even stated the very same thing:
Please stop telling me that I am kidding myself. We all can agree to disagree here most of the time. |

Topic: Golf Equipment / ClubTechnology has come to a Head I believe that for normal golfers (club level and the pros) things have reached a peak (or getting very close) in the cor and moi area. |

Topic: Golf Equipment / Plugging clubs it’s the same chris either way. But really why bother with just 1/2 inch difference? Just try them shorter and see if they perform. |

Topic: Golf Equipment / Why are tour prefered drivers so more exspensive? Simply because the OEM’s can charge more. People can say they are using a TP model just like the pros use. But there is alot of difference between a retail TP head and a real TP head. Real TP heads from a tour van allow you to choose face angle, lie, weight (the positioning of any discretionary weight) shaft etc etc. |

Topic: Golf Equipment / buying local we get ripped off here full stop. I had my pro shaft a Cobra L4V head with a Diamana whiteboard shaft the other day (hits unbelievable now). He asked me how much that set up cost me – answer just on $400 AUD (all imported from some of my connections). He sells the Cobra driver for a discounted price of $520 with the 20c stock shaft! |

Topic: Golf Equipment / Project X Flighted I didn’t think I was slagging them off (that much anyway). Like I said I have hit many shafts and these were offered to me but looking at the characteristics I declined. And after doing some ‘web’ research decided that these weren’t for me. These maybe a great shaft but I am purely comparing them to PX performance. |

Topic: Golf Equipment / Project X Flighted I believe he is on about the fst KB TOUR shafts. Same bloke that was involved with the PX design. Constant weight design (or supposed to be) Read some of the US forums (read hype). Some have liked the shafts others have not. |

Topic: Golf Equipment / Recommendation for carry bags Buy a good quality bag! Don’t skimp as others may suggest. I would argue that if you are carrying your clubs then the better quality the bag and strap system the BETTER you will score. Less fatigue and stress on your back, shoulders etc etc. Try out as many as you can but make sure that you put weight in it at the store as this will test how the straps sit on ur shoulders. I have used: Titleist, Ogio, bridgestone, Tourstage and cheap crap bags. The cheap bags last 5 seconds. The Ogio bags are worth every cent and are well made. The Titty bag was ok and lasted a fair bit. I am not sure who makes them now though. The Bridgestone and Tourstage bags are first class ordered from Japan and are quality stand bags. Yes there is a difference between the US/Aus market bags and the bags destined for the Japanese market (and you will pay more). Anyway, that is my rant. |

Topic: Golf Equipment / Cobra L4V Driver I shafted a L4V F 9 deg the other day with an Accuflex Icon V2 shaft (S) @ 45” long. Also added 12 grams weight to bring it upto my preffered head weight. The F head I have is almost dead square but I believe they are suppose to be closed? Firstly the Cobra head has that crappy sound but you could get used to it I suppose. Secondly I am not used to hitting such a shallow head but I am warming to it. Thirdly it is as long as anything I have used. Fourth, very easy to hit this straight. A not so perfect swing or off centre strike still flies quite straight and nearly as long as good strikes. Anyway my impressions are: Is it worth $600 AUD with the stock shaft? I doubt it. That is why I was lucky enough just to get a head with my specs. |
