I, on the other hand, have had a very dramatic day. Can’t think of anything at the moment…...other than cherish every minute.

so 11 shots…. hmmm, probably on the Matchplay Index, 8 holes where Goldy usually gets 1 or 2 shots, and you might get 1 Frank, and then 3 holes where Frank would get none, and Goldy 1. So in the scheme of things, Goldy may/will look at the Stableford Index on his card Sunday, and think, “Oh Wow, I would normally only get 1 stroke here, and today I get a shot and Frank doesn’t, so he has to par the whole to my bogey, to halve it, and then if I play my usual game, and just 2 putt for Bogey, Francie will have to Birdie the hole to win it. “

and after 9 holes, being 3 down Goldy will say to GPJ “I am gong to kick Micky when I see him next week”

Had a hit with DJCraig, his mate and Peaksy at Sanctuary Lakes today, Goldy. Spent the day experimenting in preparation for Sunday. Didn’t score too well but Peaksy and I won the 2 ball against Craig and his mate.

No range or anything else planned this week. I have jarred my wrist, and I think it’s related to hitting off the mats. Been sore for a couple of weeks now…again…Nurofen pre-round is my friend.

This game is out to kill me.

So 9 at the ‘bat on Saturday with Lefty and Lucas, and then the 3rd round of the matchplay on Sunday at Patto against “The Wallet”, with Lefty and Gaz as our “seconds”.

Should be a fun weekend. As long as the weather holds off.

But that’s like comparing the NBL finals to the NBA finals… Sure same sport, looks similar from the outside, but really…

...there is no comparison.

The winner of this match will simply be another person rolled by VC.

Smoldy however will live on in the aspirations of the young, idolised by all and sundry and universally acknowledged as the most powerful 2 man Ambrose team ever assembled.

I’m looking forward to it Godly, despite my official position on the day being firmly in Frank’s camp … so to speak.

Know however, that I will always be found rooting in your corner (have I gone and mixed my metaphors again?) either way though, I’ll clean up my mess when I’m done.

Now, just on the big day on Sunday ….......

When I may something along the lines of “You friggin big Jessie, Orbs” ......... I really mean ....... “I believe you’re playing very nicely Goldenorbs, so just keep it going, because you are really starting to get under Frank’s skin”.

And when I say something like …....... “That’ll still be playable Frank” ............. I really mean .......... “He’s fooked Goldy, so don’t stuff up your next shot, cause you’ve got him on toast on this hole”

And when I say something like …....... “Nice up and down Frank” ...... I really mean …..... “Keep going Godly, the bastard can’t be that friggin lucky all day”

And when I say something like “Man up you weak prick”, to you … I really mean ..... “Man up you weak prick” ......... cause it will be for your own good.

Bloody good effort….34 points in today’s conditions….awesome.

I think we’ll have a good game on Sunday. Hopefully it won’t be too wet.

The last week has made a big difference, hasn’t it. I know 11 holes are a lot to give shots on, but 13 seemed like a whole lot more.

To put things into perspective….if whoever wins on Sunday gets through Benn and then had to meet VC in the final (if he gets past Bully), then on current handicaps even I would have to spot 12 start….you 23!

I think we’re all screwed….might as well enjoy it for as long as we can.

Not working….on leave….for the remainder of this week.

I think you are right about handicaps as the Matchplay approaches the final. I felt a bit that way today. I had to play a guy off 5 in a scratch match and felt I was up against it all day (opposite feeling) He hits a great ball and I suppose it made me concentrate and play hard to keep up.

Hopefully Sunday is fine and Langy was just one of those games you dream about. Now that Gaz has bent his clubs today….I’ll stick with mine thanks. :)

I am trying bud, you know how things are, it all suddenly comes together and you think WTF and then it goes away as easily..

So now it is matter of just stringing together the good ones and minimizing the bad rounds.

Goldy….thought I’d update you on my round today at Yarra Yarra.

34 points in steady rain for the first 9 holes. (River of water across the 1st green) Wiped the 3rd and 2nd last holes where I didn’t get shots. Pared the last….......NO…..... not sandbagging. Finished 3rd overall.

Lost my “scratch match” to a guy off 5 who had 39 points.

Initial reports were not going to be kind for availability the National Day… I really need to reassess this… I’d hate for the Vic’s reputation to be sullied.
