Bridgestone make an e6 which is a pretty good value ball with a urethane cover (same as the 3 piece pro balls). I bought 330’s for $39 6 months ago …excellent value but they seem to have gone back up to around $65. Srixon Zurs at $39 are good value 3 piece ball

Might be able to get hold of one but don’t know if it is what you are after..Not sure of models..It is black finish…definately a Newport…don’t know if 1.5. Bloke I play with every week owns it and doesn’t use it. I tried it out for a couple of weeks but didn’t work for me so gave it back.

Played it in July/August 2007 so it was a bit dry but some great short par 4’s….hard greens, very friendly club with a good pro and great young assistant pro. They will do a deal on gear or just happy to have a yarn and talk golf bulsh.

short but tough course especially when the wind blows and can be bloody cold in winter.

Want a good linksy course down there play Dunes or St Andrews Beach….or go over the other side of the bay and play 13th Beach

I went in to buy Hogan Apex forged and came out with Srixon 302. Had played graphite for years and finished up with lightweight steel 302. ...nothing like changing your mind…...Great to play but took a while. tried 506 but not yet tried 701. I’m old…62…but hitting current irons longer than ever…off 13

I use a 22 Srixon with regular shaft instead of a 4 iron and it is good for 170 to 180 metres…also excellent to get out of rough which is cut 3 to 4 inches just off fairway. Have also got an 18 Srixon with Adilla shaft which is probably 15-20 metres longer

Bit late on this but I am 62 (years old) and have had a set of I302 Irons for a few years…regular steel shafts, .....excellent gear…...shop around and if you can get regular shafts go for it…

Good value balls the B330 S if you can get them for around $40 per dozen. I’m a Prov V1 man but they are bloody exy if bought new. Some of the Srixon 3 piece balls are good value even with the superceded models , coming in at around $30 per dozen. Once you get over the mindset that they are not ProV’s they perform pretty well
