Topic: Golf Talk / How did you all play this weekend?

Had a game with Pete D (3oneday) on Sunday.
I had a great day out . . . played like shite for 26 pts, but had a great day out.
Greens were furry and I just couldn't get the pace AT ALL, I lost count of how many 3 putts, I think I got 1 past the hole all day and mostly left them 3-6 feet short
there is merit to saying tiredness affects your game too, I've had a big couple of weeks.
Now having put up my excuses :?
Highlights for me were -
Great Drives on 8 & 16
General (for me) good chipping and a couple of nice flop shots too biggrin.gif
Also good company from Pete and his 2 Fox hills single marker mates. 8)
Their combined Driving & putting displays 8)

Topic: Golf Equipment / CG10 vs 588 Tour Action

You paid for a CG10, but got a 588, so you are entitled to a refund of the difference or a replacement of what you paid for.

Gotta agree with this . . . . If you like the 588, sure keep it but get some $$$$ back cos you paid for the CG10

Topic: Golf Talk / Holden Scramble

Grant, I played last year @ Riverside Oaks and had a ball! It was a bit slow but not too bad.
Would have to agree about the hot putter . . . cos one of our guys didn't make it and we went OK cos we holed a LOT of putts!!!! 8O though thats been unheard of since sad.gif

Topic: Golf Talk / How did you all play this weekend?

Played the "R & A" Massey Park on Sunday open comp and returned a repectable 36pts in individual stableford.
Also involved in Multiplier 4BBB stableford, what a BA$TARD of a game that is.
I was teamed with an 'older' gentleman coming bac to the game and playing off 29.
For the front 9 we had a total 18pts and back 9 -41pts for a total of 59.

However any day out playing golf is a good day!!!

Topic: Golf Equipment / Cheap department-store putters (Knight)

Mate, I reckon if it feels good in your hands and you can putt well with it, go the cheaper version!
You can pay $$$ just for a 'name'.
I use a Monza style copy which to me felt much better balanced, I also putted better than with the Monza AND was a whole lot cheaper!

sorry I haven't used a Knight.

Topic: Golf Talk / Celebrity Golfers NEW!

Nice idea, how about lining up another NRL star Clint Newton?

Did you see the footy show when Mario Fenech interviewed the Newtons????

They had a 'pitch off' to a pump float in the farm dam.
Mario hits a beauty quite close to the 'marker' and starts carrying on with something like "lets see you beat that guys !!!!! "
Clint (?) shanks one off into the horse paddock, scaring the $hit out of the horses. laugh.gif (kind of like my 10th tee @ Fox hills sad.gif )
Jack, then showed how it's really done pitching easily inside the Falcons shot.

Oh and in this interview Mario also served Jack a cup of tea in a saucer 8O 8O 8O nice thought, but D'OH!!!!

Ok I'll be the bunny . . .

How do you

close over the divot properly

?

I was only taught to pick up the bit wad of turf you hit out, put it back and top up with sand OR if shredded then to just fill up with sand.

Best ads . . .another tiger Nike

Imagine an old multistory factory with lots of windows . . .
you know the ones which as a kid you'd throw rocks through . . .
Tiger hits three shots, breaks three windows one above (or under ?) the other . . .
walks away pleased with himself.

I heard it only took two takes, now thats control 8O
