Topic: 2011 ISG Weight Loss Challenge When I was still playing I would play a round of speed golf a couple of evenings a week….about 2 hours for 18 which was great in that it improved my fitness but also meant I got to play twice as much golf in the alotted time!!! |

Topic: 2011 ISG Weight Loss Challenge Yeah, loved that clip. I reckon without the buggy I might be 10-15min quicker, but not heaps. Around our course I’d probably take Driver, 3hy, 5i, 8i, PW and putter. I reckon I’ll have a few more speed golf rounds in me this summer with #3 coming, I’ll be looking to max out my time on the course! |

Topic: 2011 ISG Weight Loss Challenge Still no weigh in for me, but should get onto it. With the onset of daylight savings the prospect of evening excercise triples so I’d like to know my ‘winter coat’ starting point. It’s been a heavy few weeks following the Hawks and getting out and about drinking. Not expecting too much good news from the scales. But moved about the course yesterday OK which is good. |

Topic: 2011 ISG Weight Loss Challenge Great idea AB… For those who might have missed it, yeah I tried my hand at “Speed Golf” yesterday although not the fully sanctioned style. I did it with the full kit and kaboodle, pushing/pulling my fully loaded bag on me ol’ Proline buggy. To be honest the buggy wasn’t the thing that slowed me down the most, it was state of fitness. The last is uphill and played into the wind, and it would have been better to not have the buggy, but when I was going down some hills was able to jog next to it. Take the good with the bad. In summary using AB’s format: Bacchus Marsh, 6183m, 90 (+5 on handicap), 1:57. (Sunday afternoon, no hold-ups with traffic and played through 3 groups). |

Hey Mate, Tri bikeexchange.com.au they will give you a price guide. You havent given a budget. There some amazing deals to be had at that level I love my TREK Madone 5.2, Im using it for the Iron man Isowhey shakes going well, I have them twice a day four four days a week then eat normal from then on. It was too hard running ten km in the morning then have 200 cals for breakfast and geeting through the day |

Topic: 2011 ISG Weight Loss Challenge How are you going with the shakes Ari? Doing the trick? I’m still hovering just under 90kg most days, occasionally jump over but back under in quick time. I’ve just posted a WTB ad in classies, here’s a copy: WTB, Quality Road Bicycle. Just wondering if anyone has a road bike they might like to sell. Looking for a bike in excellent condition with quality components, prefer tiagra groupset or better. Frame size around 54cm. Prefer something in Vic but will consider freighting from other states if the right bike comes up!! |

Topic: Allegingbows Journey What did you do on the successful out that worked? I saw something from a pro the other week about simply setting up with the clubface as open as you feel you need it and then the swing is just about keeping that face open – swinging from open to open. To me that feels like a sort of low backswing and then throwing it out away from me. Out and down. I only had one bunker shot last round and got up and down! Ok, I can’t say that it was because of the technique, but it did seem to work ok. Needs more experimenting from me. Might be worth a smack for you. Another good tip I got somewhere else was not to focus on the sand where you want to hit. Focus on the ball and just keep in mind to swing under it. Personally I still prefer to have the sense of swinging the clubhead into the sand just behind the ball – which is what I do for a high pitch/lob – but in the sand I am also thinking of taking a chunk of sand and not the ball. For me when I try and hit an couple of inches behind the ball I hit too far back and tend to bounce the club back into the ball. I recognise that I may be repeating help you’ve given me in the past back at you! Hope it helps anyway! |

Topic: Allegingbows Journey Good thought Brain Fade – I think I am in exactly the same boat AB! Trying for perfection. Good idea to work on the closer in shots for accuracy, and give myself a break at the longer shots. |

Topic: Allegingbows Journey AB.id stick to probably only 130m out dont worry so much about long iron accuracy to be so pinpoint as not even pros would hit a 4 iron to within 1 metre 4/5 times. |
