Topic: 2011 ISG Weight Loss Challenge
Thanks Steb. Will do. Even 2 kgs a week though wouldn’t be extreme weight loss I suspect. I’m not going to go mental though trying to lose weight. But will try and ramp up the discipline on my diet and maybe chuck in a fast day each week. If I then do 5 or 6 exercise sessions each week as well then hopefully some weight will drop off. |

Topic: 2011 ISG Weight Loss Challenge I’ll be very happy if I do. What I’m excited about is that I’m no longer doing 1000 calories of intentional exercise a day. Rather I removed the chair from my office (I spend 14-16 hours per day on a computer) and work now like a draftsmen, standing up. Not only does this burn more calories than sitting, it’s so much better for the back. I find I move around more, do stretches or chest flyes whilst I’m waiting for something on the computer. I’m even walking composing this post. |

Be careful of the loss of stamina that follows rapid loss of weight, like fighters always find who cut weight to drop a weight class. |

Topic: 2011 ISG Weight Loss Challenge My weight today is 94.3kg after a couple of beers last night around a mate’s bonfire….. waist is 97cms. Training partner commented yesterday that he reckons I must have lost a few kgs in the last week or 2….scales show no loss as such so hoping maybe body is starting to build more muscle and burn fat. As for scales showing body fat %.....we bought some recently and it shows me as being obese….problem is I’m only 175cms tall but have big chest and shoulders (137cms) and 97cms around the waist and have been doing a lot of weight work and running as well as martial arts and jiu jitsu and even after losing 20-odd kgs….. I’m STILL obese!!! Sorry, but that’s a crock…...!!! Anyway, good luck all!!! |

Mar 10 – 83.4kg Waist 96cm Triathlon in 4 weeks, want to lose another 4kgs at least. Would be great to hit the starting line under 79kgs. Even better to be 77.5kgs. But 6kgs in 4 weeks is probably going to be a stretch! Jumped on our son-in-law-to-be’s scales which said I am at 21% fat. Healthy is 8-19% for a man in the 20-40 age bracket (which I still sneak into by 2 months). So close to being in the healthy range. |

I just looked back at the last graph before I disappeared, that’s a serious effort Wodda. I also saw a post where I put you to the duel. I hereby declare that you won. Not sure I can take you on again though. I start looking about 10 years older when I get lower than where you are now, so I then start to be concerned about six pack on stomach versus six pack on forehead. |

Topic: 2011 ISG Weight Loss Challenge Smerg’s Yes by tweaking everything and doubling water it has got me through the 120’s and into mid teens. Also I think a change in exercise intensity along with dedicated rest days. I hauled by 117 kgs around the Tan in Melbourne in 22.55 this morning which is OK for my first run on the clock. Hope you all have a good month. I am off to Europe for a wedding. Must keep the cals down as I have booked into some Michelin star restaurants. Also I may be cooking at the Royal wedding at Buckingham Balance!!!!!!!!! Take care Ari |

Topic: 2011 ISG Weight Loss Challenge Some great updates in here, lovely work Momma’s. Wish I could say they same. Have been a batchelor for nigh on a fortnight now and been very lazy with diet. Not going near the scales for fear of numbers. The boss is back this weekend so I’m sure she’ll enforce a few hard truths… Ari – great work mate and you’re chart is well on the way down. Did the recent regime/diet change work in your favour? FTG – Never doubted you were gone… and nice update too! Wodda – You’re streaking me now… Bump – Awesome stuff mate. Just be wary of the weight loss from the sickness. It usually comes back pretty quickly. However, in a way, could be a blessing in disguise if you can avoid that. INterested to see how you go. And I love that suit story. It’s things like that that make your efforts tangible. When I got to the UK a few weeks back people were commenting on how ‘slim’ I looked, given that I’d probably shifted the best part of 10kgs since they last saw me. Whilst I couldn’t really tell, it’s nice to have someone notice! |

Topic: 2011 ISG Weight Loss Challenge Finally made it back to the gym for a good work out after being crook for 2 weeks. Back in 2006 I walked the Kokoda Trail, so after 6 months of hard core training, plus all the weight I lost during the walk, plus the parasites I picked up on the way I was nice and skinny and fit after I finished. Greatest idea in the world, I bought a suit not too long after expecting I’d be this way for every. For the last 3 years I haven’t been able to do the button up or the fly up more than half way. I am MC for a good mates wedding this weekend and I wanted to wear that suit, I tried it on last night an I did the button up! |

Topic: 2011 ISG Weight Loss Challenge So I just completed my second 10k run…...shaved 5 minutes off my first effort 2 weeks ago with a 57min 30sec. I’m pretty happy with that, biggest thing slowing me down is that my calves seize up after a k or 2 and then it hampers my run for the rest of the day. Have to get that checked out!!! And weighed in with a 93.5kg yesterday, which was pretty exciting but as my official day is Monday I will wait till then to see how I’ve progressed. Good luck all!!! |

Apr 2 – 82.8kg I suspect this is a little lower than my actual weight – maybe a bit dehydrated or something. We’ll see if I can remain under 83kgs during the week. Very happy with the result so far though! |
