Soulman, currently down to 3 drivers.TM R5 TP w/Aldila By You, TM R580XD TP, can’t remember which shaft is in that one at the moment, and a TM R7 425 TP w/ Mitsi Diamana White. The R7 I have actually sold to a mate but he keeps giving it back to me when he buys a new driver, which seems to be every week lately! The R5 would be my most consistent weapon, but the R7 is not far behind. I also have a Cobra L4V which I cannot hit to save my life, so I’ve put it in my local pro shop for him to move it on for me.

Putters I have 10 or 11, can’t remember exactly. Really only rotate thru 2 or 3 of them so should really get rid of the rest, but hoarding runs in my blood! 8)

pom, franky couldn’t sledge the fuzz off a peach, he’s too nice a guy! 8)

Looking forward to having to shoot 68 or 69 to even make the podium having seen the posted scores so far!

Cheers

Topic: Golf Talk / 2 quick requests in Perth, WA regarding loaning some irons.

Chris, sorry for the delay in getting back to you.

I was only able to come up with a set of Mizuno T-Zoid Pro II’s with S300. Been sat in my garage for ages & ages and are a little rough, though still very usable. Could have sworn I had a set of TP Combo’s with R300’s but unable to locate them, probably sold them off and forgot about it!

When is the girlfriend due over, I haven’t exhausted all avenues as yet?

Cheers

Topic: The Lounge / Schoolboy question.

A kid comes home from school and says to his mum, “Mum, I’ve got a problem”.

She says “Tell me”. He tells her that the boys at school are using two words he doesn’t understand. She asks him what they are.

He says “well, pussy and bitch”.

She says “Oh, that’s no big deal, pussy is a cat like our little Mittens, and bitch is a female dog like our Sandy”.

He thanks her and goes to visit dad in the workshop in the basement. He says to his dad, “Dad, the boys at school are using words I don’t know, and I asked mum and I don’t think she told me the exact meaning”.

Dad says “Son, I told you never to go to mum with these matters, she can’t handle them. What are the words?”

He tells him…pussy and bitch.

Dad says “OK” and pulls a Playboy down from the shelf, takes a marker and circles the pubic area of the centrefold and says, “son, everything inside this circle , is pussy.”

“OK dad, so what’s a bitch?”

“Son” he says, “everything outside that circle!”

My 3-wood was retired about four years or so ago when I got my TM Rescue TP 14° hybrid. I hit this further than any 3-wood I’ve had and can play any type of shot with it, high, low, fade, draw. Wonderful weapon!

Topic: Golf Talk / Motivation

These days I find myself dragging our promising young golfers out to these types of competitions to help them with their confidence and give them experience in the “tournament world”.

The fact that I get to play with some extremely talented golfers myself on some wonderful golf courses is a bonus. At my age I’m too old to scare the youngsters and not yet old enough to clean up the seniors, sort of a golf “twilight zone”! 8)

Topic: Golf Talk / What do you avoid?

Dr_Gribbles_Esquire: everytime I look back in here your name has gotten even longer! When did you get your doctorate & your heritage, did I miss something??!! 8)

I have found over the years that avoiding work has worked wonders with my game. When working, I don’t seem to be able to get below the 6/7 mark. When not working, 4 is normal and if I bother to practice, 3 is not far away.

But then I usually stuff that up by getting involved in someones project of some kind, which my wife then refers to as “work”, and my game detoriates accordingly!! 8(

Lovely day today! Teed off at 12.10, had a couple of light sun showers and one reasonably heavy pour for a couple of minutes, rest of the day perfect! Pity the golf didn’t reflect the weather.

Topic: Golf Talk / can some explain club champs to me?

It seems to vary a lot from club to club. Mine (Rockingham) is just four straight stroke rounds over four consecutive Saturdays, Sun City also play 4 stroke rounds, but go Sat/Sun/Sat/Sun. Other clubs I know of play a couple of stroke rounds, then go to matchplay.

I would check with your match committee, someone should be able to give a definitive answer.

Good luck mate, hope you can bring home the big trophy!

Topic: Golf Talk / How did you all play this weekend?

Saturday had 29 pts on what turned out to be quite a lovely afternoon weather-wise. Hit the ball pretty well the front nine with just two soft bogies limiting me to 18pts, hit a great drive down 10 to 120m, then the wheels didn’t just fall off, they completely rolled away for the rest of this hole and the next 5! Went double, double, double (4 putt), bogey, bogey, double for 3 pts in the six hole stretch. Recovered with par, birdie, par finish to salvage something. Haven’t had a really bad stretch like that for a long time and hope the next one is a long way away! 10 over for that bunch of holes, 1 over for the other 12, grrrrrr! 8(

Sunday was final round of pennants, a nothing match really as we couldn’t make the final and couldn’t affect the oppositions (Sun City) chances. I played their current club champion and he would be one of the longest hitters I’ve ever seen! I reckon he could give AB a run if he decided to go to Long Drive. He was consistently 50 to 60 metres past me and I was driving the ball okay! I hit two bad drives resulting in lost balls that handed him two holes, 3-putted from 4 feet to give him another and just could not make a putt to save my life. In fairness, he was in the same boat on the greens, the balls were bobbling around making putting a pure lottery. Match finished 3&2 in his favour, but I was quite happy with that as I felt I had matched him just about everywhere on the course (except in length!) and it was only the three holes I handed him that stopped me at least getting to the last. Talking to him after the game, I found out he’d shot 69 the day before at Sun City, which anyone that has played there can tell you that is some sort of golf!

Pennant season over for another year, although our junior team have made the final next Sunday against Kwinana. We’ll be up there supporting them, as well as cheering Sun City on against Kwinana in the A-grade final. The A-grade winner goes up to Div 2, so we would prefer Sun City to go up and avoid the 90 minute road trip next season!

Cheers
Brett
