OK, looks like I’m playing the following: Portmarnock; Old Head; Adare Manor & Ballyliffin, plus a “surprise”.....I don’t like surprises !!
and I’m staying in a “real castle” Nyah, Nyah, Nyah.

It is, not played there but picked up a couple of “big wheels” who were staying there several years ago and haven’t stopped thinking about it from time to time since. Pretty open course but not really a links in the Scottish sense. I think it was designed by one of the “Trent Jones”. Been there a while so probably Sr.
There is another course not far away which is supposed to be even better, can’t remember its name either…..oh damn now I’ll have to figure that out.
Do you think I’m talking myself into this trip????

Dromoland Castle does not ring a bell. Its a residential hotel/golf course…ah bugger it now I have to find it !!!!!!!

Try not to leave “Old Head”, off the list of courses you play whilst over there ….... as that is one course that’s definitely on my bucket list.

Well possibly yes and possibly no, I’m kinda trying to figure out how to survive it first.
I have this Irish buddy who has issued the invite but as drinkers go this guy makes D Boon; D Walters look like girls (no offence ladies). He damaged two dozen at the Glades not long back in a charity thingo and was still thirsty.
I don’t mind one or two but I’m a touch wary of those that drink progressively faster.
A week with this cat might be the end of me but I’m figuring if I go on a different plane, get lost in Ireland until the first tee off, (sadly that’s as far as the evasion tactics have got) I may well chance it.
Have been twice before and some of the courses are out of this world…..there’s one at a castle on the way to Foynes, I can’t remember the name, which is sensational and I thought the “little fella” might fancy a visit.
Still having consultation with my liver….will keep you posted

Ok so my update on TLTB hitting up at my local.

It was a clear autumn morning on Saturday 13 April. The golfing gods were smiling on Woolooware golf course. I was already 3 down after 3 in the vs par event so I had the confidence of a virgin in a supermodel’s dressing room as I strode to the 4th.

150m straight away par 3, only real trouble is left. I pulled out TLTB and my trusty 6 iron. Took a divot that Australand would try and build a house on and left it about 10 metres short of the green.
After a few motivational words to myself i walked up and bumped a 7 iron up and on to about 2 feet short. Tapped that in and walked away with a par. Would turn out to be only one of three pluses for the day.

So TLTB had travelled to Hawaii and has now played his first game in The Shire. It is time for him to go on another journey. It has been fun taking guardianship of such a precious artifact but it is time to move on.

Hey all, sorry for not updating – what with recovering from too many Mai Tai’s in Hawaii, Easter, kids on holidays and a fair bit of man love for Adam Scott I had completely forgotten about the little guy sitting in my bag.

Let me know who wants it and I can stick it in the post tomorrow or Friday.

I will also do an update tonight or tomorrow on when I took it out on my home track.
