I would love to see the Shark lift up the Claret Jug at the end of the 4th round, but I see Padraig coming up with the goods.

I checked out the forecast for the 4th round at Royal Birkdale ( http://uk.weather.com/weath... ) and there is no mention of high winds.

I was thinking about this also.

It is more than likely he will be wearing his lucky red shirt again as it would look unusual if they showed pictures of him in the future of his 14th major win holding aloft the trophy wearing a different coloured shirt.

My prediction is for Tiger to win by 3 strokes.

I have a another putting question for everyone.
I was advised of this rule by one of my playing partners today which I found strange.
If your playing in a group of 4 and the person who is the furtherest (not sure if that is a word) away putts first. If he putts to about a few feet away from the hole is he required to putt out if is not in anyones line or can the person choose to mark it.

What happened to Lonard? He has never made a cut at the Masters and after the first day he is on -1 on his way to playing the weekend and this morning, I see he shoots a 81, the highest round of the day.
Did he have a injury or was he ill or did he just play crap?

I’ll like to believe that surfrat, but I get the feeling that Adam Scott will be the Greg Norman of this era. He has so much potential when it comes to the Major’s, but does not deliver.
His biggest downfall is his putting and at the Masters, that part of your has to be on song if your a chance.
I think his best opportunity for a Major is a British Open, just like Norman.

I would say that Tiger would be a given but Retief Goosen for me. He always seems to be at the pointy end come Sunday (Monday in Oz) at the Masters.

My opinion is if your playing for prizes then you should always putt out unless your wiping the hole.
I’ve seen players putt to a inch of the hole and casually try to tap it in and but the putter hits the ground just before the ball and fail’s to putt the ball in the hole.
I recall Baddley doing this one year at either the Aust Masters or Open and he looked a total tool.

I usually use a Galaxy World token or a foreign coin. If I’m in the line of someone’s putt, I use a flat Callaway marker.

I’ve got a few poker chip’s from casino’s around Australia and around the world as souvenirs. I never thought of using them as a ball marker as I think they’re a bit big to mark a ball?

Is there anybody online that has gone from a normal two wheel buggy to a three wheeled suspension buggy? If so was it worth it does the suspension make any difference?and is it any easier to push/pull?

Hi Poider,

Just got back and I have to say that the suspension does make a difference as it is so much smoother (no pun intended) when going over the hump and bumps on the course. It is so much easier to push the Smoothy than pull along a 2 wheel cart. I noticed that I wasn’t exerting much energy when pushing the Smoothy and as Dave_1 said, “you can push a smoooty with one finger…” (not sure what a smoooty is though). A few times today I let it roll down a hill by itself, just make sure a water hazzard is not the bottom of the hill.
The only minor problem I had was it kept veering to the right, but that can be easily adjusted with a turn of a allen key which was supplied.
In the word’s of Molly Meldrum, “Do yourself a favour” and get one.

After 12 years of using a 2 wheel buggy (5 years for my most recent buggy) the metal brace that connects from the main stem to the wheel snap over the weekend.
So today I decided to buy a Smoothy Classic (with seat) and I will be using it tomorrow, so I can tell you how it goes.
One thing I can tell you now is the Smoothy takes up a lot more room in the boot of my car.

When the word “putt” is used, I would automatically assume that the stroke is played from a place on the putting green.

If any stroke made with a putter on and off the green is called a putt, things get confusing!

Outside the putting green it’s just a “stroke”.

If the putt was made off the green, would there still be a penalty stroke applied. I’ve seen people chip just off the green and hit another person’s ball with no penalty stroke applied.

This happened to me today. I hit my shot out of the bunker and it lands on the green. I was the last guy to get on the green after raking the bunker. As I walk up towards the green, another player in my group putt’s and hit’s my ball without giving my the chance to mark it. He was asked by my playing partner if he wanted my ball marked and I assumed that he didn’t think it was in his line and proceeded to putt the ball.
In this instance is there a penalty stroke applied? And on who?
