Hi, My understanding is that you are allow to practise putting after finishing a hole without breaking the rule. What about chipping or pitching (or a may be full shot)? TIA.

Topic: Rules of Golf / Replacing balls of different types between holes

Thx everyone for the responses. I have always played the same ball type during a round. Now I guess I don’t really have to :)

Topic: Rules of Golf / Replacing balls of different types between holes

Is there a rule that will prevent replacing a ball of a different type (eg 3 piece to 2 piece, hard to soft) during a round between holes? If so which rule is it?. thx in advance.

The fairway is good or fair condition on most holes. All the greens are in good condition and fast. Bunks are in good condition too but just don’t go there.

Topic: Golf Equipment / Cleveland HiBore Drivers

I have upgraded from XL to XLS for a few weeks now. It is definitely longer and straighter for me. I found that the XLS head is a bit heavier than the XL. It took me a while to get the same swing feel as the XL but once I got used to it. It is great.

Topic: Golf Equipment / Shaft length and lie angle equivalent

Just wondering if anyone know the effect of extending iron’s shafts. If the shaft length is extended by 1/2 inch what would I need to flaten the lie angle by 1 degree to make it the same? In other words, will a 37” 60 lie 6 iron play the same as a 37.5” in 59 lie 6 iron.

Topic: Golf Classifieds / Scotty Cameron Studio Stainless 33/350g

This is a true 33 inch (not cut down) with 350g head not the usual 330g head (a tour proven shaft length head weight combination). I don’t think there is one available in this spec on eBay for a long time. If you don’t like lead tape on your putter then this is the one for you.
Anyway thanks for your comment.

Topic: Golf Classifieds / Scotty Cameron Studio Stainless 33/350g

For sale is a rare 33 inch long with 350g head (similar to a tour putter head weight) Scotty Cameron Studio Stainless putter. It is used but in excellent condition 8/10. It does has some minor dings through normal use but significant and none on the face. It has a upgraded Scotty Cameron Baby T grip and does not have a shaft band. Also, the headcover and pivot tool are included.
I am asking for AUD$375.00 + $20.00 postage to Australia only.
I will also consider swapping it with a similar condition 33/350g Scotty Cameron Mil-Spec putter.

Topic: Golf Equipment / irons for different handicapps

I am off 15 (just) now when I got my Titleist 695MB I was off 21. I am not a very good ball striker. But I want my perfect shot to be perfect.
Having say that, if I hit a bad shot, the feel is terrible and the ball will not go very far :(

Topic: Golf Talk / Tin Cup Mark II

Hi Benny,
As davego already mention, I found that most golfers are very understanding. Everyone can have a bad day, in fact I was having a reasonable day until I got that 15.
That experience did not stop me from playing any more stroke play(I can now handle being watched a lot better than I used to). In fact, I actually preferred stroke play. It makes me concentrate more and also think about every shot more.
If you haven’t play comp I recommend you give it a go. The pressure from being watched and ‘judged’ by others will make you better golfer.

Topic: Golf Talk / Tin Cup Mark II

When I first started playing comp, I have had the unfortunate experience of hitting 7 balls in the water of my home club 191 meter par 3. It was a stroke event I couldn’t just walk off, also there were 2 groups behind me waiting to tee off witnessing the whole ordeal. I ended up getting a 15 on that hole :(

I think it only suitable for golfers who does not wash their own pants and the guys in the PGA tour definitely don’t wash their own pants.
