I agree Junior. I drove from Sydney to Melbourne to get scanned last week and have begun the journey. While I don’t yet have empirical evidence of it working long term, the signs are certainly there and I know you’ve got the results you were looking for.

I will update the forum on my progress as it happens. My main aim is to increase distance and my scan showed that everything was moving slower than it should be and my club head speed was also slowing before impact. Graphs show I was powering mostly from the arms.

The drills will get me powering from the ground up and when I get it right, I can already feel major differences in stability and impact quality. Won’t be an overnight thing but I expect to be seeing significant improvement inside a month.

Bio is certainly dedicated, has a very helpful attitude and offers ongoing support. While it may seem expensive on first glance, I think he provides really good value for any one serious about improving. I Googled Bio Mechanics on the internet and in my opinion, there’s a lot of evidence that this field is the next major contributor to golf improvement.

Ha just saw that one Styles!

Looked for a real long hitting hurler but Youtube has nothing! It’s a cross/cack- handed grip – throw ball in air and belt it! Failing that, belt an opponent…..

Takes a while to get the knack, but a lifetime of high octane legitimised quarrelling awaits for those who do…...

Bio

I assume that there are better and worse swings for a persons biomechanics. How do you find out what swing patterns work best for you? Does you training deal with this?

Royssh,
My club release at impact was 50%,
My Linear at impact was 92%

P.S.T has help my angular speed tons, my ball compression has improve substaintially.
Although I had alot of issues in my kinetic link, which need work causing low angular speed.
I’m due for a re screen to check out my improvements and up date my training to work on the next area.

Royssh,

Faster club head speed doesn’t mean more distance.
There are two factors linear speed, club head speed and angular speed, ball compression.
Have you ever notice two guys have the same club head speed although one hits it further?
The difference is the angular speed. The guy who had better angular speed and force going square onto the ball will hit the ball further.
To gain distance you need to increase your angular speed first,
if you create more angular speed as well as club head speed you will gain distance.

Bio,

I appreciate that.

What I would like to know is:

-your current club release %max @impact
-your current club linear %max @impact
-the aforementioned values prior to PST

If you don’t wish to share those figures, I will understand.

Hi Boys, BIO here,
my best mate from home loaned me his name till I get mine back.
Beezneeds
Not sure who they are, although in some sense they are right you can hit it further,
The reason is due to the loading and firing of the muscles is why you hit it futher.
Not sure why they believe is shoulder turn for, lack of knowledge in biomechanics ? not sure
the real reason is the loading and firing of the muscles.
There are other factor although to hard to explain in writing

Weetbix,
6-M-1 starts from the ground up.
We’ll get your movement patterns cranking which is the engine of the swingand darty will get your hands firing to hit the ball straight

Weetbix,

The body and arms move the hands, all they do is hold on and sense.

You decide what the hands will do then the shoulders and arms do the work and the hands report back.

Next step is you decide what the ball will do and some how it goes the way you want. If not go back to step one.

Thanks, that’s what I thought. I am going to get scanned by Bio, so hopefully we’ll see some improvement in my lower body action and my kinetic link/muscular loading and SSCs, that will get my hands monitoring some high quality lag!

Dart, how much in developing lag is about managing the hands and how much is an effect of your dynamic movements? I am beginning to equate the hands with monitoring the lag, but I am wondering whether or how they are involved in generating it?

Weetbix,

Now that you have the DVDs, it is going to be easier to understand the book. It’s a tough read, but if you go at it the proper way, you will enjoy it. Get the book, follow the directions on how to get started. Use it as a reference. HIGHLY recommended for someone who has as much interest as you do…

Kevin

He who dies with the most friends, wins.

Kev,see if you can obtain Tom Ts dvd series,he explains the book to some students, eye opener…you may have to use the back door at lbg, wink, wink….ask around

Here’s some pop-science to mull over.

Pádraig Harrington’s Happy Gilmour swing with some analysis (and an annoying voiceover.

Bio; who are these guys?

Taking a runup gets PH 30 extra yards.

And no one thinks about “The Secret”, Clubhead Lag (Clubhead Feel). Always something else. Bucket, cups and tea spoons.

I rest my case.

Thanks Styles.

Junior,

My pleasure. I have a mate that does the same for me. He keeps me out of the psychiatric ward.

For tuition in Sydney call 0412 070 820.

Have to share this one after that!

During a visit to the mental asylum, a visitor asked the Director how it is determined that a patient should be institutionalised.
“Well,” said the Director, “we fill up a bathtub. We then offer a teaspoon, a teacup and a bucket to the patient and ask the patient to empty the bathtub. Okay, here’s your test. Would you use the spoon or would you use the teacup or would you use the bucket?”
“Oh, I understand,” said the visitor. “A normal person would choose the bucket as it is larger than the spoon or the cup.”
“Noooooo,” said the Director. “A normal person would pull the plug. Would you like a room by the bathroom or day room?”
