Topic: GolfWorks Gabba Sold I’ve been into plenty of golf shops over the years, I know guys that work/have worked/managed and even own various HOG, Golfworks and Drummond stores. Talking to these guys its easy to realise that the customer wants the best price possible and the shop wants to make a dollar. From my experience the shops with the lower prices are only concerned with making the sale and usually dont care much about the customer. And by cutting the prices they usually dont stay in business long. Sure you might end up paying a little bit more (and I say a liitle bit cos you can always bargain a better price than the ticket price) but the service you gain in making sure the product is best for you in always worth it. |

Topic: GolfWorks Gabba Sold Great stuff guys gotta luv it. Im no angel but direct verbal attacks show a little insecurity dont u think, its like u tryin to yell over the top of each other .You all have points just not all same .Solution simple if u dont like a shop or staff or service dont bloody go there, if u do tell someone. Ive walked out of shops not impressed but I wont spend 50 on fuel 50 on phone and three days stuffin about to save half that either. If some toss wants to blow his cash by screwing up his buisness or dumb enough to let someone else do it for him who gives a shit after all it is his ! chow for now. |

Topic: GolfWorks Gabba Sold Bought a bag from ‘Golf Universe’ and when it arrived it had the old Burwood ‘Golf Works’ sticker on it, and on the delivery docket, so maybe the Melbourne outlet has gone solo as such. |

Not entirely true. Once again it comes down to the individual fitting you. You should be able to tell straight away if someone is not fitting you properly (sounds like you would know). You should be able to spot the illusion as you call it. Going to GCI will do no more for you than someone who knows what they are doing whether they work in a retail store or a fitting specific environment. There is plenty of shoddy work comes out of GCI these days so don’t be too quick to make assumptions. |

The public servants and latte drinkers here, still associate the high cost and marketing spiel that goes with the OEMs equipment, to be also the best quality golf gear. ( TM draw bias-lol.) |

Topic: GolfWorks Gabba Sold Yeh harro8u i fully understand what you are saying but no retail store like these club fit properly they might create the illusion that they are but i am not convinced, if you want a club to suit yourself properly you have to go to a firm like golf club innovations. |

Topic: GolfWorks Gabba Sold id rather pay a bit more and get great service then buy cheaper and not get the attention ie fitting as the store is about turn over and dont give a rats if you walk out with the wrong club |

Topic: GolfWorks Gabba Sold No i am not an ex employee just a person who was a reasonably regular customer, I have never shopped in a drummonds store before and based on my first experience i wont be going back, the above comments on price not being important are not true, in retail there is only so far you can go if you are not price competative especially in terms of the internet you are kidding yourself, maybe 18 months ago a golf shop opened up next door to golfworks it lasted maybe 2 months before closing down, why, because they got blown out of the water by golfworks on price. In retail price is 80% of the game the other 20% is made up of service and range. Just my two cents |

Topic: GolfWorks Gabba Sold Ping Zing Thanks for your comments and I agree 100% with your observations. The business world is NOT about price only, if it was we would all be selling shit from street barrows. Quality is important to many many people not only quality of goods but quality of service. Millhouse has such a wonderful command of the english language….quite entertaining really, brings back fond memories of school days! |
