About 2 months ago I had 13 on the first(Par 5) in stroke, said to myself “O.K. lets use this as a practice round and see if I can come in with a half decent score”

thanks for that – I did the same thing last Saturday on the 8th when I had a half decent round going, fumed about it till the 9th, then said “stuff it” & just kept going – didn’t do anythng very exciting on the back 9 but used it as a practice round – if you can forget about it and concentrate on the things you’re doing right everything seems to get back to where you were!!!

Brownman – you have my deepest sympathy, my old bloke “Bomber” got pancreatitis about this time last year – he was 14 when he died and no matter how long ago it is you will never get him out of your mind – think good things & good times – Jett will find him and by the sound of him if he’s as good a dog as mine they’ll be mates forever

I agree, they’re tuff enuff – I play at a course that has a shortish par 3 where you can hit to a hillside to the left of the green & if you can angle your ball well enough it can run all the way to the pin (depending on pin placement, of course!!!) – no I’ve never done it!

Hate to brag – Beatles in Melbourne 1965 – couldn’t hear anything 2 best were Eagles in 70’s last concert at Festival Hall in Melbourne – started @11.30pm & they just went until about 2.00a.m. – no support – Just them – also their last tour here at Rod Laver Arena ….. sensational

Reverse every natural instinct you have and do just the opposite of what you are inclined to do and you will probably come very close to having a perfect golf swing. – BEN HOGAN, POWER GOLF

Ladylefty, is there one in Victoria – both my wife & I are lefties – she naturally & I’m right handed except for anything I do with 2 hands – batted LH in cricket & baseball play LH golf, played RH squash etc. My father was the same as well but took it to the next level – he boxed LH as wel!!!!!

Very ordinary on Saturday – stableford & less than 28 points – was not impressed when in the previous 2 twilight comps (9 holes) have come in with 20 (w/2 wipes) & 18 with 3 wipes – I guess that’s why I’ve got a handicap you couldn’t jump over :-)

Me & the Financial Controller took a 2 day package down there over the Labour Day long weekend and were VERY impressed – great track and all labour – mowing, catering, etc. is voluntary and done by the members on a roster basis
They are (rightly) very proud of the rating they got from ISG and are doing everything they can to encourage Melbourne golfers down there

Topic: Your Favourite Golf Courses / Anyone play on Churchill Park GC in Melbourne?

I was a member there (Churchill Park) about 3 years ago – I was unaware that it was/is a public course – they accept green fee players but I was always under the impression that it was a private course.
It was just coming good then – they had re-sown a few fairways etc.
The pro there left to go to Cranbourne at about the same time I decided not to renew my membership – nothing wrong with the set-up, just not playing enough to warrant it.
