Topic: Golf Equipment / Stand bag for going on holidays and how many clubs to take Dave i’ve travelled a few times lately with the clubs. You can fit all your clubs, shoes, and whatever other clothes you can squeeze in a couple of bath towels and it will come in at 15kgs. I have a stand bag and put some clothes & golf shoes in the big pocket and wrap two bath towels around the club heads and into the top of the slots and put the rain hood on. I’ve had no damage to clubs or bag yet. daacha |

Topic: Golf Talk / president's cup lost all cred? Mike Weir has previous PC experience and this should count for a lot. He has been playing decent golf of late and his record in this contest is 8-6. I’d have chosen him over Ames as well. Tiprat what is the point of having the captains wildcards if he can’t pick whoever he wants. They may as well just take the top 12 players in the rankings then. |

Topic: Golf Talk / president's cup lost all cred? The guys busting their butts to get in should make the top ten if they want to get a spot and not rely on the two captains picks. He’s entitled to pick whoever he likes and maybe his logic is that playing in front of home crowds and with all the emotion involved in the contest, Mike Weir will lift. The only credibility lost here is with the topic starter. |

Topic: Golf Talk / Playing a round with a lower marker - I always play better...strange
Dave i note with interest your first post in this topic says when you play with 20+ markers you play crap and they take your money. In my experience playing for money slows down the round for everyone. You may find that if you take cash out of the equation your playing partners may putt quicker. Also you’ve said you are a 12 handicapper and if the 20+ markers are all higher than you, it is your responsibility as the low marker in the group to ensure the group keeps up with the pace of play. daacha |

Topic: Rules of Golf / Ball moved by another ball Watching the PGA tour this morning, Bernard Langer teed off and his ball ended up in the first cut. The next person to tee off, Camillo Villegas hit his drive which hit Langers ball and moved it. Langer was required to drop his ball back to the point they believed it had been before being hit. I understand having to do this on the green but would have thought it was rub of the green and the ball would be played where it lied. |

Topic: Golf Talk / whats with bullshit private membership prices ??
sms are you calling Federal a dog track because of the practice of charging members a green fee or is it a reference to the quality of the course. If the latter you’re mistaken because it’s anything but a dog track. |

Topic: Golf Equipment / Golf Bags:
Bit of overkill there mate. My stand bag carries all that i need regardless of the weather. Lightweight rain jacket & umbrella if it looks like rain, tees etc, one towel inside one outside, painkillers, sunblock etc and two or three sleeves of balls. I also have two 750ml bottles of water in there as well. daacha |

Topic: Rules of Golf / NPR plus a full club length Kerry, It seems there is no minimum distance but only the maximum. If you were to drop the ball exactly on the point of nearest relief you would have to play it from there. The ball can be anywhere between the NPR and 1 club length from there. |

Topic: Rules of Golf / NPR plus a full club length I think Kerry is referring to the fact that he finds NPR and then has one club length in which to drop. |

Topic: Ask Bruce / US Open Formguide Bruce, Maybe you had to shorten your form guide to accomodate the new size of the adds? I’m one who would have liked to see the extended version because most of us have a go at the three balls for each round rather than trying to back the tournament winner. |
