if you own a linisher, bounce options dont matter you can grind down to whatever bounce you want and knock the bottom of the heel down for smoother bunker shots.

Topic: Golf Talk / Where to play around Avalon /South West Melbourne

Yeah I would say Eynesbury, forget Sunshine they have killed it!! I played there first week it opened and it was pure best greens I had played on! and then … Oops no water = GOAT TRACK!! I could say more but I will bite my tongue!!

If you can get on Kooringal in Altona it is Sand base and Couch and is in beautiful condition!

Otherwise head to the Bellarine penisula, Thirteenth Beach is worth the money, Torquay is always a nice track too!!

Some dream, others DO!

the water problem has been taken care of now AB.
cheers peter

It would have wanted to improve one hell of a lot for the attitude I received from the management for me to go back!! You are sunshine not southern!!

I was a member of the original sunshine as a junior and the feeling in the club was fantastic was always a nice place to be, new course, new attitude it seems!

Some dream, others DO!

I am not a member of Sunshine AB, my father is and has told me the course is in good nick.
As for the other problem you had there, well, thats your business.
Kooringal has changed from kike to couch.

Topic: Golf Talk / The Nazi Members

Tim In my experience Lady members are no worse than male members when it comes to slow play. Unfortunately there are a small percentage of male? members that think that females should not be allowed on the course. I,m afraid I do not subscribe to that theory. If they are paid up members they have the same rights as any male member.

A bad day on the golf course is better than no golf at all. :(

No one who ever had a lesson would have a swing like mine

Lee Trevino

Just a query as to women having the same rights as males, women still have ladies day and men no longer enjoy the same privilage.

Topic: Golf Talk / Sunday Violence

A young bloke at Maryborough (Qld) while being chased, drove into the park opposite the course and straight into the lagoon, scrambled out of the 5’ foot deep water, ignored his girlfriends screams for help and bolted, the girlfriend drowned and he I believe is still walking the streets.
cheers peter

That makes me sick – the @#$% should go down for manslaughter as well if they were to catch him.

Thats what sickens me, they did catch him not far from the scene and he’s been to court!

Topic: Rules of Golf / can a handicap be adjusted mid tournament

PART III – Conditions of the Competition
(d.iv) In stroke play competitions which extend over a period of time, Committees should determine whether the
handicap current at the beginning of the competition or at the beginning of each round shall apply. The latter is
more usual. In a play-off, the handicap applicable to the last round (rather than the handicap at the time of the
play-off) should apply and the conditions should state this. In 36-hole and 72-hole stroke play competitions, it is
recommended that handicaps are not altered during the event.

Topic: Rules of Golf / can a handicap be adjusted mid tournament

Incorrect a handicap cannot be adjusted during a stipulated round, the competitor’s stipulated round has ended when he has completed play of the final hole of that round.
However over 36 – 72 hole rounds, it is common for clubs to run an individual 18 hole comp in conjunction with the main event your handicap can be adjusted, but only for each of those indiviual 18 holes.

Gribbles, I would have and have done so, I play golf for enjoyment and that enjoyment does not include behaveing in a way that precludes the other people in my group from enjoying theirs.
There are enough rude and ugly people in the world without coping it on the course.
As for displacing someone else, garbage you turned up, paid your comp fees and teed off, enough said.

Topic: Golf Equipment / Tour exotics drivers

the exotics line of clubs are faultless in performance and second to none in distance, as for being over priced, well the original driver can be bought for around aud $300, xld $ 400 and the xcg $500.
They hold there value as unlike a few of the major brands they dont bring out new drivers every 6-8 mths and the warranty is better than any other major brand.
cheers peter
p.s. and I dont have anything to do with the company in any way, just a customer

Topic: Golf Equipment / $US and golf club prices

I have bought a few times from the US, from the following stores
Drivingiron.com
Edwin Watts
Golfsmiths
Purchasing when the Aud is high negates most of the conversion factor, componets and individual clubs arrive in around seven days
My last purchase was a driver, shipping cost was $us 38.50
each time it has been cheaper and in some cases quicker than in Aust.

Topic: Golf Talk / Tiger: The Power and the Passion

Please help me guys..I have been away fighting a war for our country and my golf game has gone to the shit. Had a few clubs over there in the desert n we would dig a hole n make an imaginary hole to chip n putt n stuff. Used to play off 20 but I think seeing so much death has affected my golf game n I can’t play like I used to. I used to shoot 75 but my swing has been so badly affected. what can I do to get the swing back n take my war memories off the golf course.

been there done that mate, talking to anyone about it and dont take to the piss or weed.
Try to focus on your swing down at the range, when your swings not working go over to the short game, talk to your pro about how he goes about his game, talk to the greenskeeper about the course and how he maintains it, what does he look at when sets the course up. just keep your thoughts moving in a positive direction.
I dont know if your still in, but if you can try and do so volunteer work there.
Relax on the golf course mate, dont patrol, your days are done come home.
