Topic: iseekgolf Golf Days / Sydney ISG day - Sun 28 Sept - Glenmore Guys (esp. Amanda & Trung as the organisers), I have just been informed that work need me in Canberra on the weekend thru to early next week, and I have to go down. So no golf and no Glenmore Heritage on Sunday  Sorry to pull out at the last minute but I will now try and get off time for the Cabra iseekgolf day so I can meet everyone. Hope all have a great day and will read about it next week, once again my apologies. BMC |

Topic: Golf Talk / How did you all play this weekend? 34 points on Saturday. Handicap now at 14.7 for Glenmore. Not bad considering the greens were rock hard for the club championships (wasnt available to enter into them). Hopefully get the driver and putter working on the same day. |

Topic: Golf Equipment / Steel in driver taylor360, I am just getting my shaft changed to a regular flex Dynamic Gold cut to 43.5 inches. The TX90 is another option but you couldnt cut it as short as it is lighter than the DG. |

Topic: Your Favourite Golf Courses / Great courses with a par less than 70 Blackheath is a very neat par 69. Has some nice short par 4's and the par 3 17 is a gem. When ever I have played the course is always in good nick and the green are decent. |

Topic: Golf Equipment / Srixon balls Another vote for the Utri Extra Spin. Was previously using a combo of either the A10 (a top ball) and the Srixon Soft Feel. Have tried the Hi Brid Tour. I like both the Soft Feel and the Metal Mix and also bought a sleeve of the UR on Saturday and was overly impressed. For the price the Precept balls are the way to go. |

Topic: Golf Talk / Sydney memberships Back to the sydney membership question; Of those suggested, St Micks is a good track without the high price tag. Bankstown is a flat course but always in good condition. Subs and joining fees are not too bad eg. about $2-3K plus $2K a year. Other notables are Concord (5-10 year waiting list), Ryde Parramatta (open), Pennant Hills (open i think), Castle Hill and Oatlands. There are a few gems like Avondale, Pymble, Monash and Killara which are all about the same price but have a 5yr or so waitng list. |

Topic: iseekgolf Golf Days / Sydney/Canberra Golf Day Has anyone tried Macquarie Links?? Is it a possible venue?? I do think the best option is a resort style course which can cater for this of occasion. Also the extra bit of fairway will help me as well. |

Topic: Golf Equipment / Shaft for driver I currently have a 45 inch 75g Powerbilt reg flex shaft (which I am told by my club pro is more than likely a UST) in my driver (Powerbilt Big Orange). I want to shorten the shaft to about 44 or 43.5 inches. As you are aware, this will lighten the club. Is there a shaft that will give me the same weight or even a little more taking into account the fact that the shaft will be shorter. My club pro said possibly a TX90 or Dynalite. Your thoughts or personal experience please. |

I didnt realise how much higher the ball launch would be. I get some serious air time on my iron shots. |

Topic: Golf Talk / How did you all play this weekend? Well, were do I begin... 21 points at Hyatt Coolum (ouch!!) (Now I know how Daly felt, tho I still have my putter) 8O Very nice course (great design, well maintained, medium/fast paced greens, tough pin positions). Off the back markers (they have a legends open comp every Thursday open to the public) you need to hit the ball long. Long and staight. Throw the wind into the mix and it makes for a real challenge. The fairways arent that wid in parts compared other resort courses I have played and some of the fairways really do undulate quite a lot. Aside from my poor score, I though I played better, I missed a few birdie putts, hit a few in the water(tried to bit off more than I could chew)/bushes. If you are every in that part of the world give it a go. Its $100 a round. Will put a blurb on the course review site as well. Back to Asquith this week. |

Topic: Golf Talk / How did you all play this weekend? 36 points(+14) stableford on Saturday at Chatswood invitation day. Not too bad, never got in the groove and poor putting. Playing in the legends comp at Hyatt Coolum on Thursday off the back markers. Should be awesome i hope. I will try to not do a Daly with the putter. |

Topic: Golf Talk / Goals for 2003 (Revisited) peterd, My clubs are just standard loft and length. With regard to bring my handicap down all I can say I have done is have a few lesson (the most important one was on alignment), played 3 times a month (not enough) and tried to relax on the course and enjoy the day. I also try to think about my round of golf rather than just go up and hit the ball, kinda like a strategy. BMC |

Topic: Golf Talk / How did you all play this weekend? Played up at Riverside Oaks after I couldnt get on my home course. Teed off the 10th and went in with 25 points (+2) and missed a few putts on the fron nine to close with 17 points (+6) and finish with 42 points. A very good day which could have been a little better. Handicap gone from 16.2 to 14.4. |

Topic: Golf Talk / Goals for 2003 (Revisited) I wasnt part of that thread but in the past 6 months I have gone from 23 to 16 handicap. This included two big drops in my handicap. The most satisfying thing is that when I have gone down in handicap my comp rounds have been at/or close to my new handicap. I remember being concerned that those rounds were my handicap dropped were like a "one off". Also in the past six months I have a new driver, 5 wood, set of irons and lob wedge (mostly due to Ben  ). If I can manage to play once a week like I wish I could, then I feel like I could continue to be off 12-13 by the end of the year, but this will require practice during the week and a few more lessons. |
