The anchored putter, the balls, the 460cc driver, short rough, GI irons, sanded greens, slow players, fast players, distance measuring devices. So many gripes, so little time.

It’s now apparent that golf has become against the spirit of the game & should be banned.

Peter Uihlein claimed his maiden professional title in superb style at the Madeira Islands Open – Portugal – BPI as the American’s nerveless four under par round of 68 earned him a two-shot victory at Clube de Golf do Santo da Serra.

He’s been in good form this year. Good to see he got his victory. Especially good to see an American who can play away from the US.

Glad you could see the point. I’m still failing to see the relevance of a guy buying a new putter. Heaven knows he may buy another one in the next 12 months. I look forward to a thread about that. :-p

If there are any numpties left who think that anchored putters make the user invincible, have a look at a replay of the Volvo World Matchplay. Thongchai Jaidee used a belly putter & putted like crap. He was missing easy putts left right and centre. He frittered away a 2 up lead whn McDowell was struggling through bad putting.

Jaidee looked to be cruising & then all of a sudden GMac started saving some holes by draining long putts & Jaidee started missing easy putts. The rest was history & so was Jaidee.

When I saw the replay of the final yesterday, I couldn’t believe my eyes. Thongchai Jaidee is a belly putter user & he was beaten. Aren’t those things the ruination of the game? A piece of equipment that makes the user invincible?

We arrived and checked in at 11:50 am. Went and had some lunch in the clubhouse then waited for 1 hour to tee off. I think everybody is missing the point here and perhaps I should have mentioned that we were on the tee before the groups of kids but were told by starter that we would have to wait until the kids hit off.

Noosaa, you’ve given Lakelands a massive spray by way of your OP; a criticism which because of the reach of iSeek could affect Lakelands’ commercial operations.

I think you need to explain a bit better (1) the questions you asked the staff about why a group of kids were being put in front of your booked tee time and (2) the explanation given.

On topic though, I watched until Tiger was on 11 before leaving for work then followed online, watching it when I get home. What is the story with Garcia? Is he really as mentally fragile as I think he is? Realistically I have been a fan of his but this week he lost some credits as far as I am concerned. Tut tut tut.

Re Garcia, unless my eyes deceived me I think for his first shot on 17 he didn’t take a big enough backswing. Perhaps he thought a 3/4 shot would get him there?

Lingmerth was brave really solid player.
He was trying to win and just came up a few missed putts short.
Wouldn’t say he fell by the wayside.

Fair call. He definitely would’ve putted differently on the last if hadn’t have been going for the miracle birdie.
