Wrong ball
Hi all,
It's raining,player A takes a swing at ball A1-he totally
misses,fresh air.
Player B looks down and says, hey that's my ball,A1,your ball
is over there.
What's the result,just a stroke for the fresh airy,or is a
penalty involved?
Does playing-AT-the wrong ball, mean you have hit it,even if you
don't make contact?

Fixing my driver woes
Blade, the great thing about a shaft for a club-fitter,is that
it's a starting point.Looking for the right flex is a
must, then the torque section, now we'd better think about ball
flight and the great value of a suitable kick-point( can you see
where I'm going, not quite finished yet.)So how about the
weight of the shaft and the tip,(.335-.350 for starters)what
about the amount of tip section we have to work
with(pre-flexed,2"to10"?)Maybe we might even look at
the structure of the material(Steel, flagged graphite, filament
wound, aerotech and so on.) Please take the time to get properly
advised by a club-fitter that isn't stuck in the paralysis by
analysis debate. Can fully recommend Gary Calder and Zane, cheers
Jon...

Ravens TM 4300 driver...
Amy Yang's got a new driver and it's 30+ metres past her
old driver!
Chris McCourt has built her a Raven TM 4300 Tour-spec
12°,SP700 titanium driver with a graphic design shaft.
The results are extreme!
30 metres gained instantly, great for young Amy.
Her coach Laurie Montague, has been working hard to give her a
better ball flight.
The problem was to convince her that a 7° or 8° degree
loft was wrong (Nak driver has been binned).
He gave her a 12° and instant success. Hang time was
increased, spin rates are down, length up.
Chris and Laurie proved their theory using an Accusport Vector
LM.
Mike Ferguson has been using one on the senior tour and getting
great results too.
Hope this doesn't sound too much like an add, just good to
see a club (driver) that's half to 2/3rds the price of the
stuff that's usually pushed at us, and it goes 30
further.
Can't wait for the disciples to post.

Raven's TM 4300 driver...
Amy Yang's got a new driver and it's 30+ metres past her
old (tech) driver!
Chris McCourt has built her a Raven TM 4300 Tour-spec
12°,SP700 titanium driver with a graphic-design shaft.
The results are extreme to put it mildly. The 30 metre plus gain
was instant, just a great result for young Amy.
Her coach Laurie Montague, has been working hard to give her a
better ball flight. The problem was to convince her that a 7°
to 8° degree loft was wrong for her,(Nak driver has been
binned). He gave her a 12° and instant success.Hang time has
increased, spin rates are down, length plus.Chris and Laurie proved
their theory using an Accusport vector launch monitor. The TM
4300 has Beta Ti crown and 5-interchangeable weight ports, for
custom fitting,(draw-fade-high-low).
Mike Ferguson is using one on the senior tour and getting great
results too.
Hope this doesn't sound to much like an ad.
Just good to see a club(driver) that is half,to 2/3 the price of
the stuff that's usually pushed,at us.
Oh that's right,it also goes an extra 30 further.
Can't wait for the desciples to post...

Yardages
QUOTE: Tec111 @ Apr 30 2006, 07:23 PM
Thanks for the quick replies!
I have a friend who works at Kennard hire so a laser measure
might not be a problem. I never thought of that, thanks.
I hope to do this exact and properly, with a post each side of
the fairway. Even a high handicapper like myself, likes to be
given the correct information.
I will speak to the club Captain through the week but my
inclination is to take the measure from the middle of the
green
Thanks again for your help guys
Cheers
Terry
Hi Terry,
David golf p/l in melbourne, make (import) yardage markers.
They're about 300 mm.in diameter,come in several colours
& distances.
Placed centre of fairway, they are easy to see and very
durable.
Maybe worth a look,phone them on (03)95400011.
Cheers...

Golf Equipment myths & truths (2)
QUOTE: MsPhoenix @ May 11 2006, 12:49 PM
HI everyone, Ok, I am new to this forum stuff so be patient
with me. I posted this topic in ASK BRUCE section and he kindly
suggested I try it out here as well... I am really interested
to know about peoples' thoughts on the large range of golf
equipment out there...it can be rather confusing...so I
wondered if graphite is really better than steel ? The types of
golf-balls people use...I use a soft Maxfli at the moment, but
it seems that everytime I find a golf-ball I like, they stop
making it ! Does that happen to anyone else?? It doesn't
matter that I am a low marker, I am still looking for what
works best, and certainly not the most expensive thankyou...
short of being helped by an equipment sponsor that can take the
time to analiyse my swing etc... I would really value my fellow
golfers feedback on this...I look forward to hearing everyones
comments and experiences.. .
Hi,Ms
I'm gathering some stats & specs on a high profile
woman(aussie),that has just changed her driver &
shaft. The results are huge,so look forward to a post next week
about the outcome.
Should make for a great debate.

Assistance with driver shaft?
QUOTE: grumpy_dog666 @ May 11 2006, 08:39 PM
i meant a club fitter...
most salespeople who are not fitters will not have a range of
shafts available to try cept flex...
weights, tips and such are very important in finding the best
shaft
Some unscrupulous salespeople and fitters will push the altitude
up to 6000 ft above sea level!
This gives an instant 15 to 30 metre increase in distance.
Just remember you are dealing with a computer,it can be made to
do what ever they want.

Driver Advice
QUOTE: Crafter @ May 10 2006, 08:01 PM
I have a TM r510 Driver 8.5 degree...
My driver was my favourite club until i snapped the shaft into
3 bits after i lost the plot on a terrible day with the big
dog...
I replaced it temporarily with a rather average Precept
shaft... And have hit probably 1 good drive out of 100 with
it...
My irons have been the best part of my game recently after some
swing changes... The shafts are Dynamic Gold X100's..
Should i - a) Replace the shaft with something similar to an
X100 shaft? Any suggestions?
Get a new driver... Titleist 983 or somethin?
c) Go back to my trusty Aldila shaft?
HELP!!!!!!! my erratic driving is killing my otherwise mint
condition game!!!
Get professional help from your local club fitter, quick before
your head falls off!

Club fitting in Melbourne
QUOTE: Benny_LGC @ May 5 2006, 10:42 AM
I went, I saw, I am a believer.
Just wanted to say thanks heaps to Ben for fitting me in
yesterday for a club fit. All the advice and knowledge that he
has and passed onto me was invaluable and I'll be working
on a few things for my swing and then getting back down to
Melbourne to have a few changes made.
I'd highly recommend anyone going to see ben to make the
best of their talents!

Woods shaft weight transition
QUOTE: V205 @ Mar 27 2006, 07:05 PM
Is it a normal 10g transition between a set of woods?.
Ie... regular shaft driver/3wood/5wood is 55g, 65g and
75g.
stiff shaft goes from 65g,75g,85g?
I know there's always the exception but is that a general
guide?
Hi,wouldn't that change the flow of the swing weighting thru
the woods?

changed shafts in my driver - ball flies way differant
The NV's a notorious(high kick point)low ball
flight,shaft.
Add that to your 7.5 and bingo.
The new NV's are out, they are pink and have a mid kick point
shaft.
3.5 torque is a bit of a question.
