huh, for the last 5 years I’ve played golf on Christmas day, it’s free, the course is empty (until around 11) so I get in 18 in about 2hours….

Jeez Cliff do you run around or what? 2 hours…..that’s like ironman golf.

No but I did carry my bag, bit out of condition these days, haven’t played regularly since last year….

If you keep it on the fairway 18 holes in two hours is doable. unfortunately i don’t :) I played 9 holes at windas a couple of weeks back in about an hour and 20, that was hitting two balls each hole, but i did have a cart too :)

and i agree dave on the xmas thing- i can’t stand being at work when the weather is great and i can’t go play- anytime I’m not at work, and the weather’s great and i can’t play its even worse!!!!

Well I’m back. 2 buckets of balls later and I am extremely impressed with the whole lot of the i10’s. The wrx built i10 PX 6.0’s work extremely well for me – when I made sure my legs were doing there thing and not collapsing (current problem) I was creaming the lot of them. Shame the range has a bend in it as you have no idea on the distance as it is over a hill, however I am pretty sure I was out at my best distances, but with a really good trajectory…what do they say – boring. i10’s are certainly forgiving and I could tell the difference between my old Cobras and the Pings, yet still me properly rewarded with a middled shot.

The Cobra’s were as expected a tad short. No rush but I will address the length issue in the future. When I concentrated on staying down on the ball they were nothing short of beautiful. I hit one 3 iron that I didn’t even feel or hear come off the face it was just that lightest of click and it went screaming off into the never never. Certainly a set that will reward me when I get the swing stabilised and am on my game. They have almost zero offset in the long irons so when you look down you see a straight face – nice.

So one thing that amazes me is that the PX6.0’s are not that much stiffer than the 5.5’s in feel. They didn’t feel boardy at all and certainly give me a great trajectory without ballooning.

Topic: Ho Ho Ho - yes I am

A big day today. My new (used) Ping i10’s arrived this morning – beaut condition and paid for when the might south pacific peso was still US$0.82c so got them for cheap compared to the same deal today….in fact $200 less than current AUD$ rate.

4-PW Yellow dot, .5” longer with Project X 6.0 shafts and these flash looking sanded wrap grips. Might need to order a 3 iron – not sure if I’m ready to give the 3 iron away.

As I typed this my Fedex delivery from 3Balls with a set (3-PW) of Cobra Forged CB’s with PX 6.0’s also arrived. STD Length so may have to have them soft stepped to get some extra length – maybe with a 1/4” butt extension on top. Same deal – got them before the $$ plummeted but cost me 5% waiting for another item to finish on ebay. 3 Balls listed these a fine condition but I would put them as new. There is not a mark on them in any place. And aren’t they pretty clubs too – I have always loved Cobra clubs for some reason – well except for those 90’s models that seem very ugly and dated even compared to my mid 80’s Bafflers.

Why 2 sets – why not. I just couldn’t decide whether I wanted forged or cast. I love the feel of the forged cobras but wanted cast club life span for practicing and playing in dry conditions or on less than lovely courses. I have (had) the money and 05 model Cobras go for peanuts even in like new/mint condition with top shelf shafts.

I am off to the range for a couple of buckets of balls.

In the words of Kramer “Giddyup”.
