Topic: Golf Talk / The worst weather you've played in

Solomon Islands around Christmas 07, hot, bloody hot, and with humidity you wouldn’t believe.
I was working over there and spent most of my time in air conditioning so I wasn’t really prepared for it. I love golf and have been a club member for the last 20 years here in Australia.
The Honiara course looked lovely from the road and didn’t let me down when I finally got to have a go.

It was just bloody energy sapping, and by the end of 18 holes I had trouble lifting a beer, mind you it may have been the odd couple I had on the way around…....

Would I play there again? to right, I’d play any where!!!!

What about Par Maker??
I’ve had mine a few years now and can’t fault it, mind you I don’t see a lot around, maybe because of the high cost.

But like some other smart bugger said “you get what you pay for”

Guru, its my 6 iron speed that was measured and going by the computer gizzmo I was hitting it about the same as my old hogans ie 150mts at a speed of around 90. I may have put a bit more into my swing to impress the girl behind the counter, didn’t do a thing for her.

having said that I will look at S flex in graphite for my irons which brings up another question….........

In a graphite shaft, would the torque be the same as in steel ,that is the same flex and length.
I have been told that steel shafts are made a bit longer, why?

20 years ago I played with a set of Hogan Edge clubs with stiff shafts and was on an 11 h/cap.
I bought them second hand off our club pro who used them for a year or so from memory.
I now play off between 18/20 H/cap depending on how my knees feel.
At age 61 I am still using these clubs and feel that its maybe about time I upgraded to something a bit newer.
I was advised to go with reg flex over seniors flex.
My swing speed is probably around 85/90
I am looking at T/M CGS MAX clubs but I’m not sure which flex to get, I seem to hit both the same on the computer thingo

any thoughts??

I think it is around $18, I’m not sure as I was with a group [vets] and just handed over money as I was asked for it both before and after the games.
Heading to Maryborough next month with a group and will go on from there to Hervey Bay.

I just spent a week at Kingaroy and had a very pleasant week playing their “Harvest Festival”. [April]
This course is a hidden gem and in great condition, much to my surprise. I would recommend any one visiting the South Burnett area in Queensland to give it a go.
