Topic: Winter Gear I was recently looking for an undershirt to wear under a polo, tried on a “skin” but at $100 it wasn’t worth it. Went to a couple of other shops and bought a cotton long sleeve cotton tee. 2 for $30 Bought it 2 sizes smaller than I would normally wear. wanted it really firm and ensure the cuffs didn’t hang too low. I hate a loose fitting sleeve around my wrist when I am swinging. Tried it last weekend at a 6am tee off and it worked perfectly |

Topic: Winter Gear Try Canberra, minus six, frozen fairways, ice covered greens up to the fifteenth on some days, thick socks, long pants, wool vest over a t-shirt and a lightweight rain jacket with removal sleeves, maybe a beenie but I have never used one, just my cap. Oh yeah, carry your bag, that always helps too. ;-) All I am saying is don’t get too carried away, there’s nothing worse than getting to the sixth and you are cooking because the sun is out and all of a sudden it’s way to hot. You can take off outer layers, but you have trouble removing long underwear etc…. |

Topic: Winter Gear
... by living in North Qld. When I used to live in the emerald city on those cold winter days at Royal Long Reef I’d use me wet weather gear to stop the wind blowing straight through me. Comfortable ‘cause designed for golfers. T-shirt and sleeveless vest underneath. In Melbourne, double up the t-shirt! |

Topic: Winter Gear get some Under Armour or a Skins outfit, the heat variety, they do make different garments for retaining heat and regulating body temps. In sydney I play with cycling arm warmers, a short sleeve polo shirt and sometimes a vest. When I warm up the arm warmers come off. They are basically lycra “socks” for your arms with elastic cuffs. Does anyone feel they lose distance and carry int he cold. Heavy air = more resistance I guess and perhaps your body would be less flexi if cold…. |

No wonder Mr. C is nearly on 1500 posts lol As for winter woolies, I’m going to get some sort of sleeveless windbreaker for this weekend |

Topic: Winter Gear Polar fleece wind breaker jacket is the go, its pretty thin so you can still swing. Add to that a thermal underwear long sleeve top and you should be right. Plus get a woolen gloves thing to put on your buggy. Put your hands in it while you wheel your buggy. |

Topic: Winter Gear On the winter mornings I start off using a golf glove on each hand. A beanie that isn’t big and cumbersome. I prefer a nice warm undershirt and a thin non restrictive jumper to a big warm jumper. Kneehigh footy socks and long pants. Thats the best way in my opinion to be warm on the course and not effect the swing. |

Topic: Winter Gear Hip flask of rum and a good thermal vest under the shirt with a light weight woolen jumper. Warm as toast inside and out. Isn’t it winter in Melbourne all the time. |

Topic: Game Improvement Iron Recommendations If you want a cheap set of clubs (which I will take over anything out there), have a look at these… Edit: Unless your swing speed is pretty damn high, I would look for the Rifle 5.0 shafted set. |

Topic: Game Improvement Iron Recommendations i just did the figures on the callyx20 from preowned callaways. $800 an i get change for a stamp. but thats all the way from the states an takes in to acount the lenght, lie,an grip changes. they want $1150 in the shop here in brisbane. the only problem is they are not brand new they are like new but for a savings of 300 bucks i can live with that. |

Topic: Game Improvement Iron Recommendations yep agree x-18 straight off the rack are pretty good…if the average 20 or above marker cant hit a Callaway x-18 or x-20 then they need to think about bowls or croquet as another sport to take up…. they are vert easy…..just exspensive |

Topic: Game Improvement Iron Recommendations I recently bought a set of x18’s as i was looking for the cheaper option. Improved my game a heap! Hitting a lot more consistent now and they are very forgiving. Good luck with it. |

Topic: Game Improvement Iron Recommendations Also try the Titleist AP1 if you can. The ball comes off the face like butter and gives a nice penetrating flight path. It’s also just as forgiving as the Callay x-20s. Definitely worth a demo if you get a chance. |
