Topic: Golf Talk / The Demise Of Kennedy Bay

i am disappointed about this – I thought it was a great golf course but agree with the ground staff. I also have only ever experienced it at Kennedy Bay.

I have to say that I also agree with other comments about the golf course. I played well on the day so I wasn’t too worried but it a pretty tough test. I sometimes think that golf course designers just miss who the market is.

The course I have at top of mind is Magenta Shores. I have played a few times and haven’t even looked like getting 30 points – and i have played well. i just don’t see how they expect to get repeat business if they make these course horrendously difficult at a high price?

Yep – I’ve pl;ayed quite a bit and every putt moves towards the ocean. Never ever put yourself above the hole but especially on number 11. Other trick is not to take the driver often doesn’t require distance.

The ham sandwich thing is fair dinkum but just say you didn’t know when they escort off the course.

Topic: Golf Talk / Annual Membership Subs

I reckon Bankstown GC is reasonable value – around $1800 – and consistently better condition than new brighton. No sure if you have to pay joining fee?

Topic: Golf Talk / Bellarine Peninsula - Where to play?

After playing on the weekend, I would agree that for membership purposes 13th Beach is a better course. A great challenge off the black plates and not many houses encroaching onto the course. Greens were great but temporarily looks like the fairways are slightly out of nick and bunkering has been affected by the cyclone.
If you down for a first time hit though The Sands is a great course and I felt it was tougher. Greens were scary at times. the facilities at Peppers were good as well. Only real downside is the sheer quantity of residences on this course – not sure I’ve seen it to this extent before – even on the Gold Coast.
Point is, you are going to have a pretty good golf break wherever you play in this part of the world. Sounds like we need to play Barwon Heads soon.

Topic: Golf Talk / sydney golf membershp availability

does anybody know if any of the high quality golf courses have memberships available at the moment. 1) When I mean membership I mean mens 7 day 2) When I say quality I refer to The Lakes, NSW, Royal Sydney, The Aussie, Concord, Avondale etc 3) If so, do you need a million members to propose and second?

Thanks

A sandy, tricked up golf course with surrounded by gaudy MacMansions should suit your style of golf. I’m starting to wish we chose Barwon Heads now – you have firmed for the Green Jacket.
