Topic: Ask Golf Guru - Golf Instruction / The Over the Top Move Thought I knew my swing reasonably well , but browsing this thread made me wonder about an out/in swing I'd developed lately, and it made me re-check my pivot/shoulder turn . Sure enuff I was collapsing the left leg, played last couple of days just concentrating on holding the bottom half stable , and the swing path straightened up completely Funny thing is I see people doing that all the time , particularly older guys , didnt realise I'd started doing it as well

Topic: Your Favourite Golf Courses / Dumped site near Phillip Island
The land itself would have a lot of potential , it is south facing the ocean and cliffs on one side and north facing Westernport bay on the other. Similar to clifftop exposed land at Pebble Beach and some of the other courses along that Peninsula. The southern side is very exposed with very little vegetation and would have been hell to play many days in a year . Some days a 2 iron, some days a wedge par 3's along the cliff - a little like the original 2nd at the National Old. The other course (Bass Coast) is being built on similar land 1/2 km along the coast. The view of The Ocean, bay entrance and Cape Woolamai will be spectacular. In terms of the land quality for building a golf course , it would be a tougher design proposition than the peninsula land around gunnamatta the cape etc, doesn't have that same undulating feel and natural features to work with. |

Topic: Golf Equipment / 983e info needed!!! Local pro bought himself a 983E 7.5 Speeder. Had a quick hit with it last night (couple of balls) and was amazed that I could get it off the ground - ball flight was very good . and went a long way. Club sets up really nicely, very square Does the loft on these play higher due to the deeper face ? the flight looked only slightly lower than my current driver - taylor 320 tour 9.5 with prolite. or would the prolite keep it lower than the T/Speeder (which isn't a real speeder from what I've read)
And the big question - does the club still hit the ball straight
and long once you own it - or only while being demo'd

Topic: Your Favourite Golf Courses / New Aussie "best par 3" correct mac Although MattM , I'm not quite sure that "sold" is the right word for all the lots that were going on the other estate. Local's seem to think more than a few of those sold stickers were already painted on the board the day it went up. Having said that. it still seems to be all go on the Marsh (GCPL) course according to the company.

Topic: Your Favourite Golf Courses / New Aussie "best par 3" word down San Remo way is that Duncan Andrews won't go ahead , because he can't get the attached housing estate through council - too many local objections.

Topic: Golf Equipment / 983e info needed!!! NaptownChief I just came thru a spell like that with the Driver, hittting it all over the place for about 2 month's. Eventually sorted it out by going to a 3/4 backswing for a while to get accuracy back. (it's probably past 3/4 , but it feels like 3/4) . need to make sure the follow through is still complete though. Played with that for a few weeks, and it did the trick. Think I have a tendency to overswing when using a max distance club vs a set distance club (not sure I'm alone in that) Because you know your 3 5 or whatever iron will only go X far you put a nice swing on it to get it X far, soon as you get the Driver in your hand your'e not thinking X far you are thinking "how f'ing far can I hit this one" the 3/4 swing is like telling in your mind you are not going for the max, just put it out there to X distance. good luck Redd |

Topic: Your Favourite Golf Courses / Reflections of my trip to Victoria Colonel Sure you didn't play Kingston Links ? I would't describle KH as in need of more trees (I am sure I have found plenty of them whenever I've played there) Don't remember it as terribly flat either - ok it's not the mornington peninsula but I thought it has plenty of undulation/interest (I'll take more notice next time). Topic: Your Favourite Golf Courses / Ranfurlie Course, by M.Clayton Have played Ranfurlie twice, once just after playing Moonah Links and thought it was way more enjoyable than ML. Only played Moonah at Nat once and would have trouble splitting them - both are very good. Nat Moonah definitely had the better patch of original dirt. ISG golf day there would be a lot of fun. Topic: Your Favourite Golf Courses / Leongatha South Judge ,I'll be in it if you make the trip down. Peterdr, am sure that public green fee players are welcome, like most country courses, think I saw a sign which said members of other clubs play in the comp's for just the comp fees.. otherwise the green fees were around $20 for the public. |
