Topic: Vision Golf Ball Test The Avatar I put up there during the last federal election and its a parody of those “Vote for Pedro” t shirts everyone was wearing… good clean fun. I used the Arctic White Russell on the weekend and went on a rampage, drove a par 4 green with driver this time and not 3 wood and it played very nicely. Lipped out 2 birdie putts in a row…. |

Topic: Vision Golf Ball Test Hi Mr C, Pictures Soon. Hey Pom, thanks. Hi Tendrll, That is exactly what I have been aiming for, finding players Also, thanks for the shear report – it helps. Hi Styles, Thanks for the testing in your low temp, obviously it has an impact Try the idea below on the UV to see if it helps? Hi Race, Interesting info as we have found a similar situation. If you put Obviously hitting it will do a similar thing. What I’m not supposed to tell you is a good auto paint cleaner |

Topic: Vision Golf Ball Test One russell gone, 40th hole of play and it was looking a bit tired and I drove it out of bounds. Technically didn’t loose it as I could see it glowing 20m on the wrong side of the fence. Next russell went into 2 fairway bunkers and 2 green side bunkers. Each hit out marked it up pretty bad but after a hole or so the marks definately seems to not be as bad as first thought after it smooths back out a bit. |

Topic: Vision Golf Ball Test Report from Ireland on the Artic White. The shearing still seems to be a problem. My dad played with the artic white on Sunday and reported that although he was happy with the ball, he couldn’t use them as they would degrade too much over the round. I’m not going to try them again now for a few months and will report back when its heated up a bit here (not that it ever gets all that warm here!) |

Topic: Vision Golf Ball Test Well, you’ve got another convert today. I was paired up with a 15 h/c older player who said his vision was degrading faster than his swing. He was still hitting the ball fairly well and every hole he was worried more about finding his ball after each shot than planning for the next. After seeing him lose a few balls that I’m sure must have been in the first cut of rough I offered him the high vis alternative. After a dozen holes he didn’t lose a single ball and raved about how it made the game a lot more enjoyable. He said he was heading to rebel sport after the round to grab a dozen to test. Sadly, I lost 2 myself into water today but otherwise they are still going great. I like that the UV is heavy duty, it takes a lot more punishment that the X2 which are just too fragile for my use. Edit: This was in 35 degree celcius heat and there was no evident shearing. |

Topic: Vision Golf Ball Test Hi Boz. Finally got back out on the course after our big wet. Plenty of rough out there but the course came up pretty good. Took the U V. out on saturday & finally found some form for a while. Was 4 under H/cap on 14th tee then hooked the yellow peril O.B. & that was the end of it as they say. The score was based mainly on good chipping & putting ( 27 for 18 holes with a 3 putt from 3m on the 17th with a white ball.) I put most of this down to the high visibility of the u v ball assisting me in the chips & putts. My regular playing partner bought a dozen last week ,played with 1 on sat. He played absolute rubbish but said after his round he did not lose a ball although he hit plenty in the rough. Another convert I think.Played again on sunday with the uv but lost it in the water on the 8th hole . playewd the rest of the round with a srixon A.D, 333. Really noticed no real difference between the 2 balls except for the visibility factor Will continue to use the U V . I am saving Russell for Pennants. May be a secret weapon, I hope. |

Topic: Vision Golf Ball Test Had a round today in the seniors comp, hit the ball a lot better due to many buckets of ball at the range in the last week or so . Had 9 holes with the Fantom hi-soft and 9 with a Russell . Was very impressed with both balls. Russell – Distance and club face feel was as good as the Srixon I normally use , maybe even a bit longer than the Srixon , the ball looked as good as new after 9 holes and had no scuffing at all [ didn’t hit and trees this week]. I think I could get 2 rounds with it no problems. Stopped as good as the Srixon on the greens and felt good off the putterhead, very good golf ball you have won me over. Hi-soft – Again distance was good especially when I hit it sweat, a couple of drives that I hit with the centre of the club were longer than I usually hit the ball , when this ball gets hit properly it’s long. Stopped better than Russell on the greens and good to putt with. Scuffed a little after 9 ,would probably get 1 round with it. Again very good ball . Overall both balls are as good or better than the Srixon I usually use. Now all I have to do is get the pro at our Golf club to stock them again so I can start using them from the many balls I have got saved up with him from ball comps. |

Topic: Vision Golf Ball Test Hi Boz, tried the x-pert today (24/2) at a mate’s club (Long Island) in Melbourne. I am off 12 and normally use the HX Tour. I have got to say that this ball is really long, straight and has a great feel to it. It didn’t spin as much as the HX, but all of the shots I hit into greens (long and short) took one bounce and checked. The ball also felt great off the putter. The only negative was that it scuffed up a little more than the HX usually does, but I should get a couple more rounds out of it! I am almost converted!!!! |

Topic: Vision Golf Ball Test Boz, I retired the 1st E2 after 3 rounds…..really, I could not stomach its looks any longer….had 34pts again…and again the ball flies and behaves fine. Took a new one out today (Sat) and only hit it 75 times!....28 putts incl….. a 3 putt!!! So I am back down to 7 and will keep an eye on the progress through the six balls. I was given some ProV1s for my birthday, so will hold off using them untill the 6 are worn out/lost? POSITIVES….. NEGATIVES….. Given I got 3 rounds from the 1st E2 ball and I normally get upto 5 rounds out of a ProV1 the economics are a factor….kind of….our Pro takes 2 ordinary ball comp. balls for 1 ProV1, so I ‘convert’ my balls to ProV1s. Sometimes whem I accumulate enough I get a box of ProV1s and sell them on eBay to cash them in.($60) That’s the money I would use to buy E2’s…..round about way I know….if our Pro stocked Vision that would be a different scenario. So for now, I am still happy to use the Expert 2. http://www.golflink.com.au/HandicapHistory.aspx?golflink_no=2080800567 |

Topic: Vision Golf Ball Test Boz, I was told the other day that 3 piece balls run the risk of coming apart internally after 18 holes, is this true? or was it a problem in the early days that has been overcome? or is it a load of shyte in the first place? |

Topic: Vision Golf Ball Test Gave an old chap ( but 12 h’capper ) a used Russell the other week – he’s grabbed me in the clubhouse lastnight all excited to tell me – he has used it now for 4 complete rounds and it still looks brand new. So after 5 rounds it has gone 40pts(me ) , 36 , 36 , 38 & 39 (him) He’s off to perth today , to try and find a rebel store and buy up big , so he can give them out to his fellow old timers. Could be the start of a UV revolution at Mandurah. Funny though – he still calls it ” That green ball you gave me “ |
