Topic: Vision Golf Ball Test Hi guys, I received the latest batch of prototype goodness from Boz. Just got a couple of quick questions if someone can help with… Boz has provided an explanation of a few of the balls, couple not so sure on: Which one should I use first up? Cheers |

Topic: Vision Golf Ball Test PTDS1002 & Hand written x3 (with crown) took both these balls to yarra bend tonight putting – am getting used to the feel off the putter face and they roll very nicely. easy to lag too, nice and straight 60 deg wedge – spent a bit of time hitting flops and chips from say 35m down to 6m off the green, balls release nicely and feel real good off the face of the wedge, couldnt really get them to check as it wasnt the shot for it, |

Topic: Vision Golf Ball Test TallChap Nice write up mate Keep Mr Russell….... He is, well without going all the way back into history, the name of Boz’s first ball and as such should just sit somewhere as a collectors item. |

Topic: Vision Golf Ball Test Hi all, I received a box of visions to test just before Xmas and these are the ones I have played so far. I have played a minimum of 2 full rounds plus some practice with each of them. I play off 21, have only been playing golf for 18 months (addicted now) and am improving slowly but surely. My cap of 21 generally consists of about 9 holes playing like a 10 – 15 handicapper and 9 holes playing like a 36 – 100 handicapper. X3UV – The first time I used this ball I was impressed how long it was off the tee for me. Also didnt seem to spin as much as what I was used to. Loved it. The colour really stands out as well, I’m a big fan. Wedges into the green rolled out a bit but was happy and putting it made a funny click sound, didnt seem to go as far as usual for me, but I got used to it. I really like this ball, suits me well. White Gel – Felt a little softer than the above to me off the driver, and played very similar to the X3 as well. What I noticed the most with this ball was when I got a nice straight drive away it starts low and then climbs and climbs until it really gets high. Never had that trajectory before. I like this ball as well. Tour One Prototype (blue writing) – This ball is beyond my capabilities at the moment. Felt soft, went pretty far but too much spin for me. I saved it for use on the par 3’s and went way better with it, a couple of huge suck backs off the tee from the 140 – 160mtr mark but alas, I dont think I have the skills yet for this ball. Where I did like it was putting though. Felt great, ran true as. If only I could change it out to finish holes after hitting another ball in….. Red Crown Logo with handwritten “2” on it. – same as above, beyond my current skill set, loved the putting test I did with them both though. Felt this one was a bit longer than the Tour One though off the tee. Hit them both on a few holes for practice and this one was always a bit ahead (when they went straight). FTL – Loved it but never really felt like I was on top of what I was doing with this ball. It goes long, nice ball flight, stopped on the greens, putted and chipped nicely, but I could never string together an entire hole with it. I ended up giving my remaining 2 to a mate that plays off 10 and he loooooved them. So much so he wants to game them a bit longer. I pointed him in the right direction online and he is in the process of ordering some. 808X prototype – What can I say, this is the ball for me. Used it the last 4 rounds I have played and now have 3 new flags on top of my golflink cap. I like everything about this ball and are hording my stash of them for comp days. For me and my skills it is long, straight, EASY to spot, stops on the green and putts great (used to the harder feel on the greens now). My only criticism is I dont like the feel of them on chip shots around the green to about 20 – 30 out, but the results are ok. And I’m not the worlds greatest chipper either so a work in progress. Next to try are the “Mr. Russell”...? Cheers guys for reading such a long post and Boz, cheers for the package again, I am having heaps of fun trying out all these different balls. Hope my feedback helps. |

Topic: Vision Golf Ball Test My mate had some interesting feedback about the x3…he uses a 2-ball putter and he found the yellow ball to be easier to line up (2 white balls on the putter, yellow ball to hit). He did putt much better, so maybe there is something in that? |

Topic: Vision Golf Ball Test Had my mate give the x3 a go last couple of weeks and he likes them….of course, the first one lasted 2 frigging holes before finding the water. He usually uses Penta and the x3 feels better to him, performs the same and stops on the greens rather than spinning madly. He also seems to get lower iron ball flight, something that he does not like but is better for him… |

Think Maybe I can help a little here. The last ball on the list is one of the original type UV balls I believe.. The 2 808 balls to my mind felt exactly the same. Think it may just be different labelling. |

Topic: Vision Golf Ball Test Another of Boz’s mystery boxes arrived today – so many balls, so few hours! The standard additions – that new style glove looks good, I must say. I note the added feature/advertisement of being machine washable. Quite a full test-pack, apart from the balls ordered, took only the white ones out for a putt this afternoon. Putter is a Scotty, no insert. Added a white Gel and White X3 to make up the numbers and to serve as marker balls: Tour Lady seems quite hard and clicky or the firmest of all these balls Black-printed Proto is almost toooo soft off the putter for my liking although this did not affect distance control. All balls ran smoothly and came off the putter cleanly and rolled similar distances (within the variability of the amateur putting stroke). At first I thought the Tour Lady was taking more break than the others, but I was wrong…just pushing the stroke a little. None of them seemed to “jump” off the putter face but I seemed to have an in-built need to stroke the black-printed proto harder because of the very soft feel. Based purely on 45mins putting I am inclined to like the TourVisionOne blue-printed prototype, but I will have to take them all out for a chip’n’chunk session before coming to a preference. On another day I will take out the yellow family: Better take a notepad – no way I’ll remember the subtle differences of 6 closely-related balls. |

Topic: Vision Golf Ball Test Had a organisation of the bag and added fresh balls. In the transition I noticed my mixed bucket had a Titleist ProV1X staring at me. When I was caught in the disillusion I preferred the ProV1, not sure why as it was awhile ago. |
