cliffmanley, personally i think my flop shot is my most comfortable shot, i play it better than most i see, but i’d rather play a regular pitch then risk a skull.

i agree with mrC i only use the flop if its the only shot playable eg/ need to hit it high and spin it onto a pin tucked close over a bunker etc. the flop shot in my armoury is used maybe once a round.

it is fine to use basically any club you feel comfortable with around the greens as there are many shots you can play, with the flop shot i would hit a sandwedge and not a PW the sandwedge face opens up alot easier.

i usually play nxt tours, but often i will buy a sleeve of pro v1s, the difference is crazy, the spin on these balls from your approaches and the check they get off your chips is great, they are long too. i think that some other balls ive played and liked around the green are the titleist nxt tour, bridgestone e5/6, srixon z-urs and srixon soft feel i think its called. and for the flop shot i open my left foot and turn my right foot in slightly, open the face and make a relatively easy swing, have the ball basically in the middle of my stance if not towards my left heel ( im right handed) and play through the ball and keep a soft grip.

hit a 313 metre par 4 today in one, that was pretty good. hitting par 5s in 2 is always good, sinking 8 foot putts and getting up and down from anywhere over 50 metres feels good to.

my distance vary around 10 metres or so between clubs, eg 5 iron goes around 180 and 7 around 160, are they all the same offset or are some lengthened and some not?
