Topic: which putter??? my advice is to get your putter fitted. people come to me to get a new driver and spend hours getting fitted for drivers, but when they are looking for a new putter they just pick one of the rack and try to adjust to it. totally different sports!!! think about it! really!! so i would suggest to find someone who is into putter fitting and let them fit you with a putter that fits you. not the other way around!! some variables they should look at are: loft, lie angle, length. you may not want to go to the extreme of someone like tiger who has 4 putters that look the same. but? are they really the same? no, 2 are (he has a back up) but they other 2 have different lofts and weights depending where he is playing. and people wonder why he makes the putts when he has to. hmmmmmmmm now do you think that tiger would just trot on into drummonds and pick one of the rack? And some golfers wonder why they have 30 or more putts a round!! Ha! i would avoid somewhere like drummonds and house of golf, they are just sales people. find a pro who is into putter fitting and get the job done right. believe me its the easiest way to rip 5 or 6 shots of your handicap. |

Topic: which putter??? I bought a new putter on Monday…it was an impulsive buy…wasnt getting tyres fitted to my car…and the golf shop was across the road…I was just hitting some putts with an Odyseey XG # 9…..and it felt great…sits very flat whic is good for me as I stand pretty straight it doesnt have much offset, whereas previous putter had offset and everything went left (Im right handed) with the XG 9 everything went straight with same set up played yesterday with…result…awesome….happy as…I normally look for ebay but he gave me a discount so I would have only saved 20 biucks by buying it off ebay so it wasnt worth it really best advice is get about 7 or 8 different designed putters…try some mallets…try some blades on longer putts I find mallets to be good….........blades are better on that testy 5 footer I dont subscribe to that theory that oh a 10 dollar puttter is good as an 80 dollar one either…..but thats just my opinion. But nce you get to the $120 you get a really good putter…putter confidence is vital…if you feel confident with whats in your hands then you play well with it |

Topic: which putter??? Conventional, hmm well I suppose you could say it’s simple, tried and tested and allows you to hit it the way you want to hit it. Belly, gives you a guide for your setup every time you use it, it doesn’t allow you to bend over too far or stand up too straight. Broomstick is a like a big pendulum, it almost swings itself. |

Topic: which putter??? The longer style putters are used by players who suffer most from wobbly hands and pivots. They can rid one moving part by securing it with the longer shaft to a ‘central point or position’. Shorter putters outweight the longer ones as most people can control a shaft and clubface with such a short motion. |
