Topic: mixed irons Is that true? So if you have mixed clubs as in an iron set with different driver and wedges etc, it is advised that you get them all fitted with the same grip? |

Topic: mixed irons I’ve been told that it’s more important to have consistency in the grip rather than in the shaft or club head. |

Topic: Did Norman choke? JD would do, but nothing beats the smokey flavour of Lagavulin or Laphroaig while on the Golf Course, before hacking your ball out of the heather. ;) |

Topic: Did Norman choke? Davey, I’ll have to explain the concept of “no” to you. Pay someone else to do it and go play golf. after all , your the one who has been working in shitsville all week. Like most of us, your probably married to a workmate or a nurse and they just don’t seem to understand , do they. |

Topic: Did Norman choke? Wow, I fortunately have 26 years before I reach that point Dave. Thankfully my wife lets me play Saturdays and 9 holes on Sunday most weekends. But then she spends most of the time I’m away scouring ebay for jewellery and shoes. Not sure whether thats a sound pay off for me and my wallet. ;) Still I get to play golf without getting my ear bent when I get home. |

Topic: Did Norman choke?
Yeah right. There will be a lady there but I doubt there will be too much beer handling. (More as an overseer and ‘What are you doing that for) Normal thing, after 27yrs she who must be obeyed decides that a backyard Blitz is in order, doesn’t like the look of the back garden area and it needs a refresh. So one wall and fence to come down with another of different design and fabrication to replace it. Just another couple of weekends I don’t get to play golf. |

Topic: Did Norman choke? Don’t worry Ditty, weather forecast is set to be sunny and dry tomorrow, albeit coolish as 19C with a 24kmh southerly breeze. With an extra layer on you should be in a very happy place. Take my advise after living in Scotland for 30 years, get yourslef a hip flask and fill it with single malt whiskey, that will take away the bite of the wind. ;) |

Ditty, you will be on a golf course tomorrow, that’s a happy place. I on the other hand will be behind a jack hammer ripping out a 12m x 1.6m bush rock retaining wall and it is also raining here in sunny (not) Sydney. Now that is NOT a happy place. |

Topic: Did Norman choke? Very heated debate. Love it. Interesting discussion on Chasing Birdies down here last night. Very respected sports psychologist said he questions Greg Normans pre-shot routine under pressue. Has studied tapes of the 96 Masters and said in the final round Norman’s pre-shot routine lengthened from 17 secs in the previous rounds to 27 seconds in the last round. Psychologist name is Noel Blundell and has worked with pro golfers, olympians etc. In terms of what a choke is, I think it is when you cannot perform the most simplest of skills under pressure that you normally would. Watch a videotape of the sudden death playoff of the 89 Masters and Scott Hoch. It’s a good example. You don’t choke over 18 holes. That is more of a slow prolonged process. I feel for Norman in this instance |
