Whaleback would be the best for me, close to my house and i’ve been getting lessons from Murry there.

rebjon are you with the Whaleback Warriors or you just know about them ?

No not with them I a member of a private course in the area but looked at the Warriors for a while. My only problem is Whaleback is its a public course, it is a par 71 course with a ACR of 67, you need fricken 41 plus stableford points just to play to your handicap which is BS because the course even though it is a little short still can give you blow out scores.

The are re working the front nine to make it longer, with water comming into play so the ACR might go up making it closer to how it actually plays, certainly not 4 shots easier than its rated atm.

Murray Thomas is an excellent coach and does not bull shit you around. He tells you if you hitting shit and then tells you what you need to change, I like that. It may appear he is frustrated but he isn’t he is trying to ensure that you dont feel like he is just teeing the ball up for you. I have never had a lesson but have watch his lessons and spoken to him plenty of time (well actually he told m i as hitting it shit and gave me a few ideas)

Anyway if you do see him ask him about the warriors in the mean time this it their contact details. Clicky Here

Good luck in club hunting

It’s very basic, isn’t it! Information covered is pretty good though.

Good luck mate, hope you find a suitable and friendly club.

There are a lot of social clubs that travel around to a heap of different courses. Some have very small up-front membership fees, like $50 or similar, and you just pay for the games you attend on the day. Some clubs get around to places like The Cut, Secret Harbour, Vines, Joondalup and all get reasonably good discounted green fees on the day for their groups.

Check out the WA Golf League ( The WA Golf League ), they’re a very popular starting point for non-club golfers looking to get into a club enviroment without a huge outlay.

Another social club I was involved in a few years ago is the Quinns Rock GC. They play all over the place, usually about every 3 weeks. If you are interested in them, drop me a line and I’ll chase down their contact details for you.

Cheers
