Topic: Golf Talk / eBay Fakes or eBay Bargains??? i guess you’ve got to be open minded about the whole thing. we want to believe that the name brand stuff is magically designed , manufactured etc, and that justifies the price. i wasn’t concerned so much with the heads but with the shaft, after all , i payed a price that would normally only buy the shaft, so how could the shaft be any good. I sure was pleasantly surprised |

Topic: Golf Talk / eBay Fakes or eBay Bargains??? I own a fake fti ,fake cgb max and a non conforming hi-bore xl genuine driver. the fakes were imported from china ( where else). I hit them all identical distances and all are accurate as well. whilst playing at yarrawonga recently, one of the groundstaff, a scratch golfer, came to the teebox waiting for us to move on. i asked him to have a hit of the 3 drivers just to watch his beautiful swing and also to see if he could pick faults in the drivers( not telling him of the fakes)- result, 3 perfect shots. my shafts were all regs and he plays stiff. anyone who pays half price or less for a new current model driver and thinks that he’s getting an original is imo a fool! I was sceptical of how the fakes would perform but results speak for themselves. maybe I was lucky that I was supplied decent clubs. |

Topic: Golf Equipment / cleveland cg10 wedges golfer-com has clevo sets ,exactly the same layout ad as my seller, aus despatch ,sends to aus and nz. probably same guy ,diff name.the differences in the fakes are not noticeable unless you compare side by side.the offset and the diff finish on the hitting surface is what made up my mind to return them.but in saying that even though the wedges have all the right stickers etc are the shafts genuine, why would they be |

Topic: Golf Equipment / cleveland cg10 wedges the egogolf guy has now dropped the price from $95 to $69 for a cg11, cg10, 588 new ,(aussie seller). how are we to know how low cost price is, which would then give us an idea whether something is real or not. $69 for a clevo is a joke compared to $150 at drummonds |

Topic: Golf Equipment / cleveland cg10 wedges i just remembered seeing a golf show discussing fakes. they tested 2 callaway drivers, one fake ,one geniune.using a hitting machine, there wasnt five yards in distance between the two.straight also. then an old yank pro hits them both and claims the fake is r/s.i know for a fact that callaway driver heads were made in thomastown – vic up until a couple of years ago, so whats the diff between thomastown and thomasnang |

Topic: Golf Equipment / cleveland cg10 wedges I bought a 3 wedge cleveland set late may. while i was waiting for them to arrive I noticed a posting on ISG on June 3rd”are these fake” This post re affirmed my intention to check them out for authenticity. Took one to drummonds, to cut a long story short, these were the best fakes they had ever seen. Writing, different size, offset slightly different, impact area different finish. Could have kept them and no one would have known they weren’t genuine. Only by comparing side by side can you tell. As someone said in the posting, why would there be so many cheap clevo wedges around. got my money back. i wanted to believe this was a deal! if this 3 wedge set was selling for say $60 a club(US dollar) in the US,how do these people get supply like this in australia and sell for $180 a set here. i havent seen any US sellers doing the the same- any answers? |
