Topic: Golf Equipment / Cobra FP's or Titleist AP1's Demo clubs should now be available at most places that sell Cobra and Titleist so give them both a try. AP1’s have better options when it comes to shaft choices but apart from that everything else is comparible and just down to personal preference. |

Topic: Golf Equipment / Advice on set make up I was just about to say check the website as the PW would be about 45. Either get the 49 AW or possibly look at 3 specialty wedges as suggested above. |

Topic: Golf Equipment / Lie angle - demo clubs/trying before buying? As Tendril has said, $1000 is a possible budget for irons though a club fitter using components and even a few OEM’s. Number of clubs impacts the $1000 too, not sure if he is getting 8,9 or 10 etc. I ordered 7 irons and 3 wedges OEM, all with upgrade shafts and grips for $1310 so probably just under $1200 with default gear. Cobra have the FP’s and S9’s. Both have reasonably good custom options and you can get for just under a $100 an iron. TM and Calloway both have fitting carts but price starts sneaking up depending on choice. I would suggest Ping too but price will get too high. Best way as mentioned in many other threads is get a fitting either with a club maker or somewhere that does OEM custom fittings. |

Topic: Ask Golf Guru - Golf Instruction / Hitting different clubs similar distances The joy of making stats say what you want. Using mediums over averages would probably be better in this case. Also seeing the bell gragh of the distances would be a much better way to communicate this data. eg 70% of people drive 180-220 yards. Another thing about the sample size. Even though 14500 people were surveyed, several thousand of the people in the survey could play once a month or less. One 50m duffed drive a round would lower the average 10 yards for these players and thats one scenario. |

Topic: Golf Equipment / Club fitting specs from brand to brand The Mizuno 6 iron would be 62 degrees after being bent. Also beleive each inch longer makes it 2 degrees upright. So the titleist stock should be very close given its half a degree more upright but 1/4 shorter than your modified mizunos. That said, toolish point holds some merit given the new irons are due here in 3 or 4 weeks. |

Topic: Golf Equipment / Club fitting specs from brand to brand Standard lengths and lie can change from company to company but can also change iron to iron from the same company in some cases. http://www.cobragolf.com.au... eg pro irons have slightly different lie angles. |

Topic: Golf Equipment / Nickent 3dx Ironwood I have the 1 and 3+ on order from the US with the steel shaft but they are not expected here for another 2 or 3 weeks. Unfortunately noone in WA stocks them so had to buy without trying. That said, I have only seen a few low lofted hybrids stocked by anyone anyway. |

Topic: Golf Equipment / latest TM r7 irons? Think the R7 irons came out late 2006 from what I have read but there is the normal and TP model so not sure which was released at that time. Also all R7 woods have been superseded recently and stores are now clearing them out cheap. R460, R7 fairway and R7 Ti fairway. R7 irons appear to be just about to go also. There is the Tour Burner irons coming that maybe their replacements. I just ordered some R7’s and they rang the supplier to ensure they could still order custom configs. The floor stock was also on special for both versions of the R7 irons. |

Topic: Golf Equipment / TM Burner XD irons? I tried the Burners but I didn’t like the feel off the face but if it feel good for you, go for it. One thing to be careful of with the burners is the lofts. The PW is 44 degrees which means you pretty much need 3 more wedges on top of the PW. The 5 iron is also 23 degrees and very strong (actually more like a 4i). If you go Driver 3W 5W Hybrid 5-PW GW SW LW or similar it will work well. If you want a 3i or 4i be careful as they are only 2 degrees gaps from the 5i up. I also went the r7 and have ordered 4-PW. Going to give a hybrid a try but if that fails will skip the 3i and add a 2i. |

Topic: Golf Equipment / Titleist introduces four new iron models I actually like the fact that from just reading the website, you can easily tell the groups each iron are aimed at. Very few of the other companies are that transparent with their customers. They will sell a lot of AP1’s to customers that want to improve to then play the forged AP2’s (that for most will be replaced with something newer by then anyway). Nothing too fancy but a great way to increase your chances to retain customers in the future. |

Topic: Golf Equipment / lookin 4 new draw driver Definately try both burners (draw and non draw) if they take your fancy. The non draw model still draws a fair bit and the draw version I assume is a lot more. Several others have them now. Ping G10,Cobra Speed plus many others if you look around. |

Topic: Golf Equipment / Taylormade Burner Ti Fairway Wood The Taylormade website says the club face is square on the burner steel FW but when I hit it, it did have a draw bias but not as much as the driver. There is an R7 Ti fairway wood. Seen a few places running them out cheap. Can be set up neutral or draw bias. http://www.taylormadegolf.c...;section=specifications |

Topic: Golf Equipment / Recommended driver for older beginner Best to go to a demo day or at least try some demo clubs at the range. That way he can try some ladies and seniors club. Even better, get fiitted professionally and have launch angles etc measured. |

Topic: Golf Equipment / Lind Golf Hi Brad, Its not just the small players that have these issues, even the giants of the game offer a much smaller range to lefties, ladies and seniors. Despite their size, they still need stock that companies want on the shop floors and its just not viable to replicate ever club into a left hand option plus ladies/seniors configs left and right. The industry standard seems to be to drop loft options for the lefties and only have 1 or 2 sets for ladies and seniors. I know you have to start somewhere but it would be nice to see a few extra options in just one model to cater for ladies/seniors and 2 options in woods and hybrids for lefties wouldn’t hurt. |

Topic: Golf Equipment / Lind Golf Womens section is also lacking. Pretty much looks like they can only order mens heads with a ladies shaft and -1 inch. Surely it would be worth having at least 1 driver with like 12 13.5 and 15 degrees, fairways going to 24 (7W) or 27 (9W) and hybrids down into the 30’s. Offer it with seniors and ladies flexes only maybe? |
