Get lessons!

Book in for three or so, it will be the best $150 spent on golf.

Not only the older guys, but many 30 something tiger wanner by’s are just as slow. if not even worse.
When I play with a close friend we always struggle to keep ahead of the group behind, let along up with the one infront.

What are the 100 series like?

My FIL has one, I think they are overrated…for a 70K vehicle you could get a lot more comfort and handling.

My 5c worth.

I am looking at the 25k second hand mark not new.

think the merc might win. easier to park and around town etc.

probably silly to have a cruiser and prado in the same garage.

We have a Prado and I drive the wifes Corolla, my smoothy fits in boot but clubs ride up front with me and was thinking of a 100 series to go bush without worry of damage, also take to golf.

Either that or an older ML 430 Mercedes.

Mr C,

I had a 1980 nissan patrol a while ago that would have been that colour when new. By the time I had it the colour had faded and was scatched down to a “smokey lemon” tone.

I loved that car and if I won power ball would try and hunt it down.

It had a small truck diesel and gearbox in it and was bullit proof.

Jeremy at New Age Golf Innovations, 7 Racecourse Rd Bundall, 0415618879, builds/modifies clubs for Adam Scott’s dad, brilliant and very reasonably priced…

Cliff Manley

3 bad shots and 1 good shot is still a 4….
Golf is played in a very small area, the 6 inches between your ears…

“Dont play too much golf. Two rounds a day is plenty.” Harry Vardon

Thanks Cliff I know the place – little place on the left just before Straithaird Rd.
I work down the coast a bit so dropping them in their would not be an issue.

I bet Adam Scott’s dad gets nice hand me downs…..

I know he pays for his work with custom made Pro V1s….

Toyota Prado “gold shimmer”, can go months with out a wash and when you do it dose not look much better when it gets one

Flush it, chunk it, flush it, chip it, hole it 5 a half!
Flush it, flush it, three putt the half!

Should add to my own post that it is the gayest colour, add would rather have the black or charcoal. More of a mans colour. HAHAHA!!

Players who have commitments with families etc have to make a decision, do you want to play golf or not?

A bad day at golf is still a lot better than a good day at work.

What a stupid comment.

I don’t get a lot of time due to a young family so i get my thursday night at the range once the kids are asleep and hopefully get 18 in once a fortnight. I’ll never be as good as I want to be with the limited time i have to play, till there in school anyway.

I agree with you sarge,
My kids are 9 &11.
They come to golf with me some times.
They treat it as an adventure,
having a bit of a drive in the cart. holding the flag etc
if they don’t come they always ask my score because they are interested.
Wife is a nurse who works shifts.
I get to the range once a week and play fortnightly or less.
Golf and families and life is a balance.
ask any father/mother.

That cock head who said “choose golf or families” is a window licker for sure.

“Serenity Now”

I like the fact I am a superstar in my home when the kids come running when they here the door open.

But, what is a window licker? Somehow I don’t think it means he is a “metro”!!!!

Ok by my calculations thats 6 hours…..and thats a very conservative estimate I would think……

And that’s one day of the weekend gone. I stopped playing cricket when i got married, and looking at it now, there’s no way I could feel good about working all week, and then spending one whole day of the weekend playing a game that didn’t involve the missus.

that’s why I’m trying to get the young fella into it, so I can borderline justify it :)

I did the same thing. Mostly work thought. At least you can pull out of golf and it only effects you.

But aren’t those rules and etiquette items something that should be extended beyond the boundaries of the golf course and the bowling green? To me, those rules are about respecting yourself, your opponents and the assets of the organisation with whom you play those sports. There is nothing asked of you that [at least in my head] seems out of order.

Other than having to wear long socks with shorts, but that’s another story…

Great point!

However, I think the general cost of living is more expensive than ever.
For a young couple to start out today you need about 100k a year.
Luxurys the private golf club membership is only an option for the truely dedicated and passionate.
Many clubs are trying to target a generational spread across the age groups.

Time is another factor, most wives work to some degree now days so that week end family time is even more precious.

My two cents

Tweed, Emerald Lakes, I don’t know many others outside the Surfers Paradise Area.

Might add I don’t want to play on a goat track either. If this gets off ground I want it to be nice.

I wonder how the RACQ feels about the RACV moving in on their territory.

I hope to see a gang-land style rumble on the streets of the Gold Coast.

Looks like Dec 27 to Jan 12 for me at the moment. Will have transport so don,t mind where.

A bad day on the golf course is better than no golf at all. :(

No one who ever had a lesson would have a swing like mine

Lee Trevino

Thats when I will be there pending flight availability and cost.

Where are you all based?

How do you all recognise each other when you turn up? LOL

Hi Guys

Just new to the forum, but I believe you get what you pay for.
BUT you should try a couple of guys out and see who you click with.
They must understand what you want and you have got to understand them otherwise it doesnt matter what you pay.

Hope this helps

Good point. But add to that someone that cares how your golf is going and is as passionate as you.

Topic: Golf Equipment / Total Golf Performance - (Club Fit, Melbourne)

I Just wanted to let anyone who is thinking of updating, reshafting, purchasing, altering etc etc on any of there equipment should consider checking out these guys in South Oakleigh.

I spent a very informative 2 hours yesterday with Kyan and Jon (golfguy33) getting fitted for a new set of irons and new shaft for the driver.

Very detailed and thorough and willing to explain what and why they are doing.

I have been down to the local retailer recently and been fitting incorrectly. THANK GOD I did purchase anything without going to see these guys.

Check ‘em out. I know you will not be disapointed.

Planning to see John soon to get driver shaft checked. Heard many good thinds about the service.
