Topic: Lowering Drive trajectory I recently got a new driver and it is a Lind Mojo. The biggest issue in lowering ball flight, for me was to go to a stiffer shaft!! |

Topic: Lowering Drive trajectory
I definitely find that a head wind doesn’t really affect the ball as much as it used to. Of course the distance is lessened due to the increased resistance but I still launch the ball reasonably high into the wind and it doesn’t balloon, it bores through. I have a feeling the lower the spin rate off the face the less the head wind will have an effect. I don’t know whether it is a combination of a deeper faced driver (higher COG) or higher ball speeds (190+) combined with spin rates below 2800 rpms that give this effect? |

Topic: Lowering Drive trajectory Tiger was once asked outright how he dealt with hitting his Driver directly into the wind. He replied “what wind?”. Moral: Hit the thing right and the wind has little to no effect sideways but will decrease your distance a little – live with it. Best Advice: Unless you are trying to use the wind to your advantage, ignore it altogether. Worst Advice: Try to do something different in order to counteract the (perceived) effect the wind might have on your ball. |

Topic: Lowering Drive trajectory Gibbo, I was told that modern technology (clubs and balls) are designed to go through the wind regardless. Squeezing it out lower (as LP enjoys doing) is only for the persimmon headed clubs. Tee it high and let it fly! |

Topic: Lowering Drive trajectory
Try using a demo 7 or 8* driver with a high kick point shaft from your local pro or driving range. It will give you a very different launch straight away. The results will let you know if you need abit more loft or not. Try afew different driver/shaft combos to get the best ball flight. Should only take you an hour or so to discover what works for you. |

Topic: Lowering Drive trajectory Windy situations and the driver? First of all, don’t fight the wind and play with it. Placing the ball back in your stance and teeing it lower with your driver is not like placing your 5 iron back in your stance and teeing it lower. Either way, most people tend to swing too hard into the wind and that is the opposite of what you should be doing. A slightly wider stance to promote better balance in the wind does help but swing within yourself. Perhaps you need to try a shaft with a higher kick point to help promote a lower ball flight. If the average golfer goes changing their driver ball placement during a round, well, not really the best thing to do unless you have some tricks up your sleeve or control with how you go about the process. |

Topic: Lowering Drive trajectory It sounds to me like your coming into the ball too steep, i was having the same problem and found out that i was actually teeing the ball down too low which was forcing me to come into the ball steep, i started teeing it up higher and tried to come into the ball flatter. |
