Cheers,

I haven’t tried it, but the idea of not transfering weight would seem to mean one less thing to get right in the swing….....

all things being equal do you guys think S & T is easier to learn for a high handcapper starting out than the “traditional” swing?

Topic: Golf Equipment / Adding weight and the Sweetspot?

I’d like to add some weight to the head of my putter and for cosmetics would prefer to do so internally rather than adding layers lead tape.

My question is by adding lead dust or something similar to the hosel area, will the position of the sweetspot change dramatically?

Cheers

Topic: Golf Equipment / Adams Golf- Insight BUL 5000 Driver

Just took it to the range today, and i must say i am very happy with it.
As it is 15 it has a high ballflight and probably is a little shorter than my previous 10.5 driver however it seemed much much straighter, which is why i got a 15* :) I can see myself getting the 10.5 later on as I (hopefully) improve.

Im on the NSW central coast so Sydney would be most likely…........I don’t s’pose anyone knows a good clubmaker/repairer on the central coast?

Topic: Golf Equipment / Loft & Lie Adjustments

Hi All,

Just curious as to the cost of getting the loft/lie adjusted on irons?

I spoke to the local retailer and they said about $10 per club to adjust the loft. Is that around the general going rate?

Cheers.

Topic: Your Favourite Golf Courses / favourite tournaments @ favourite courses

Hi All,

I just thought it might be interesting to have a thread where people can discuss tournaments they have played or would like to play.

To get things started, I’d love to play Shipwreck Coast Classic Open at Port Fairy and Warrnambool in August. Two very nice courses!

Topic: Golf Equipment / what can I use for shaft glue?

All the shaft glues i have seen are epoxys. they also all say to use proper golf club epoxy only, that could be a way of trying to get sales but with a clubhead flying 100mph you dont want it coming off!

Having said that i’d be interested to know the difference (if any) between shaft epoxy and the regular epoxy from a hardware store.

Topic: Golf Equipment / TOMMY ARMOUR SILVERSCOT FORGED MB BLADES

http://cgi.ebay.com/NEW-TOM...

I came across these on ebay, the spiel with them says how much more forgiving they are than other blades.

Does anyone use them? if so what is your handicap and what do you think of them?

Topic: Golf Equipment / Iron Lofts

Hey Jon,

One of the options I am considering is reshafting and bending all my irons.

I currently feel 1 club above 3 iron is not enough and 2 is overkill. Same with 3 wedges is not enough but 4 like now is overkill.

I would make the entire set 1 degree strong (maybe 2 degrees for a few clubs) and drop the 2 iron and put a wood or strong hybrid in its place.

Seemed insane as these were strong in their day but it doesn’t seem that insane when its roughly what I would get with a new set anyway.

How many degrees can you bend irons? I imagine it would depend on what type you have.

Topic: Golf Talk / To drive or not to drive ?

I have the same dilemma.

As a result I am gonna buy the Adams Golf Insight BUL 5000 Driver. It comes in a 15 loft version.

It seems to me at this stage to be the best of both worlds.

Let me know how u’d go w the BUL 5000 ?

i own one at 9.5 , as a spare driver, it’s OK but not exceptionally forgiving or long as touted to be.

Still think my Cally x460 plays better.

If Tiger plays Lefty will he be that good ?
You sure Square is Good ? Don’t Think So !
Good Golf is Fun plus the Great Outdoors…
In the Bag: Clubs and Balls. My Handicap is Bad Golf.

‘Will do. I’ve hit a few in a shop with the 10.5 and prefer’d it to the big bertha and nike sasquatch.

Topic: Golf Talk / To drive or not to drive ?

Slickone I play off 16 ,if I only hit my driver 220m I,m disappointed unless it,s upwind, 240 is good & more is better of course. I hit my 5 wood 210-215. Best i have seen was a 25 marker hit driver off the deck 280 m & it was straight as well. I play with a mate who is also over 50 & playing off 15 . He regularly hits driver 260. Before you ask ,our golf carts have G.P.S.systems so measurements are accurate.

I’m around the low 20 mark and If I hit a driver 280 off the deck (or off the tee come to think of it) I would walk off the course and never hit another golf ball again. Either that or pack my bags for the US open!!!

Topic: Ask Golf Guru - Golf Instruction / Driver Loft, What's the Guru's Recommendation?

15 – you can actually use a 3-wood for that instead, right ??
it’s the ‘standard’ loft of the 3-Fw anyway

the 14-15 launching is actually ideal for your 85ish MPH driving speed, i should think….

If Tiger plays Lefty will he be that good ?

Good Golf Combines Fun and the Outdoors…What else more can U ask for ?
Trust me I am a Physician :)

Currently i dont have a 3wd in my bag as i dont use it off the fairway. I have driver, 5wd, 7wd, 4h, 5-9 iron pw, gw, sw and lw.
