Topic: Vision Golf Ball Test Hey Boz, Got a mate that rang today and asked where I am buying my balls from. He didn’t know I had started playing the Vision balls, so I told him to head to Rebel Sport and pick up some Arctic Whites. Only problem is he lives in Bunbury and there isn’ta Rebel sport. Do you have any resellers in Bunbury? Hopefully we can help move him away from Callaway and over to an Aussie ball. Cheers, |

Topic: Lind Golf I finish with my current employer today and they know I am a keen golfer – needless to say I got a Gift Certificate for Lind Golf – gotta be happy with that – I’m still smiling about it. Anyway I spoke with Brad online and going to Brisbane next Wednesday I’m keen to get the new clubs before I leave – Brad bent over backwards to not only take the order but arrange for Express Post on Monday – talk about great customer service!! Definitely look at Lind Golf for great customer service – can’t comment on the clubs as yet but will definitely do so once I get on the course with them early next week. Cheers, Mick |

Topic: Vision Golf Ball Test Evening all! Round two using the Vision X-Pert. Still not hitting it of off the driver well, so reports on distance unavailable. However, the success story of the day. First hole (Shotgun start), 17 degree hybrid into the green and stopped withing 3 feet of pitching. Yes, the greens were soft, but this is pretty awesome none the less. Then, around the greens, enough check, and stop for several tap ins. A chip in on 9. I have heard of so many people chipping in with the Vision ball, and today was my first chip in for a long time. Coincidence? Who knows. The ball seemed to hold up a bit better from scuffing today, however, that may have been because of the damp conditions. As previously mentioned, it is difficult to get standard texta to mark the ball, and I have read that using a freezer bag texta will be better. I was thinking that the name X2-Tour has a bit of a ring to it. (This may have been mentioned before?) Not sure if you want to head this way with any future balls. Luckily for you Boz, I am still spraying my driver and am leaving a number of balls out on the course for people to find and have a go with. Thanks again, |

Topic: Vision Golf Ball Test Popped down to Rebel in Geelong today. The Vision balls were well displayed with a bit of signage and on the top shelf above some of the better known brands. Quite prominent. No sign of a free giveaway though – have they been sent to Sleepy Hollow yet? $40 for a dozen UV yellows, which I’ll probably go with as I don’t have the game to bother with more expensive options. (When some of your balls don’t last more than a couple of hits you can’t afford to spend too much on them. :) I figure that’s a pretty good deal with a hat and some extra balls and goodies, but I’ll probably be more in the $25-30 target market when those options come out. For now I’m happy to shell out a little extra for a product from an Australian company. |

Topic: Lind Golf Got my clubs. The razor wedge is brilliant. It’s stopping power has me attacking the pin a lot more and it’s great fun being aggressive close to the green. However my Sniper L3 putter came with a dent in the face. Although annoying, these things do happen sometimes. However their service in this respect was great. I e-mailed them on Tuesday. They told me no problem, sent it back and we’ll sort it out. I posted it on Friday by regular post and I got my new putter today (Thursday). There – Built – and back by regular post in under a week. Even when things go wrong at Lind, it all goes right. P.s: When you make an order throw in an extra 20 bucks and get their umbrella, it’s great value and great quality. The drop bear bag is also brilliant. P.p.s: If you have to return a club, many smaller post offices won’t accept a parcel over 110cm in length. Call first and save yourself a fruitless drive. |

Topic: Lind Golf Brad thanks, There was mention of it earlier in the thread but are you guys doing any demo days in Canberra soon? I would love to have a hit of them. Interesting that you recommend a stiff shaft as I don’t feel I have a really fast swing speed, the distance from my irons is more timing than power I feel, I seem to hit my irons better than woods, my drive distance is around 250-260m which is too short really. Also interested to hear your opinions on shaft length, I am fairly tall (6 foot 2) and around 75kg playing standard length, but I feel I could do with an extra 1/2 inch, especially in the shorter irons. |

Topic: Vision Golf Ball Test Hi MW, Thanks for the thought, just talk it up as giving them balls is a By the way margin and the retail points are fine and quite acceptable to the current 120 proshops I have stocking balls. Good question though as it is part of the story. I am looking at a display at present that shows the UV’s Hi Guru, Your crows are just brighter than ours. :-) |

Topic: Vision Golf Ball Test Was thinking of giving one to the pro that I am playing with rather than the local pro. I know the touring pro might not have a lot of say either, but you just never know. As for the course, I think most courses in WA are in peak condition at the moment. The greens at Joondalup were amazing and fast the other day. Made for a real challenge. I could only imagine how quick they’ll be at The Vines this week for the Pros! Then on Friday, I’m off to check out Araluen. I know the Pro there and will have a word in his ear. MW |

Topic: Vision Golf Ball Test Enjoy the Pro-Am. The course is looking pretty good post its sanding work a couple of months back. In many resort cases the Pro does not have the ‘shop’ to stock. In the case above the ‘pro shop’ is run by the Resort. A few members use the Visions already me being over the fence on the 5th hole:) The WA crows do not seem to like the balls. Chap from Vic was telling me how they do not last 5 mins over there yet a bunch of them was not in the slightest interested in ours sitting on the fairway. |

Topic: Vision Golf Ball Test I’m playing in a Pro-Am this week at The Vines. I’ll drop a ball the way of the Pro that I play with and tell him that when he gets back to his home club to have a serious look at the balls. A bit of a funny question , but being in business myself, these things come to mind. Is the gross margin for the Pro as attractive as the other major brands? I assume that Titleist and Callaway offer quite tight margins and it’s purely a volume game for them. I also understand that it may be difficult for an Aussie company to match the big guys in low manufacture costs. Hopefully this isn’t too much of an invasive question, and I certainly don’t care to know what your gross margin to retailers are. Just want to try and ascertain so that when it is mentioned to pros that they understand the extra bit of coin they may be able to pull in. One other thing. Have you looked at a neat counter top display with a UV light in it to show how the UV yellow ball glows? It’s bound to attract attention in Pro Shops. MW |

Topic: Lind Golf Hi Jason, As Cliff described above, if you hit them properly, they can be worked and your shots can be shaped beautifully. If you miss hit them, you’ll know all about it. We generally don’t recommend Blades to players off handicaps above 10. That said, they are a great club to look at and you’ll feel confident addressing the ball. Our standard shafts have a mid kick point. A 7 iron from around 150m suggests stiff flex. They will most certainly force you to work on your ball striking. Sincerely, Brad Lindenberg |

Topic: How did you all play this weekend? Went out on Saturday, shot 89. Wasn’t too happy with many of my shots. Some really bad chipping and a bunch of near misses with the putter. Went out on Sunday, shot 82. Fixed the chipping but my short approaches let me down. Missed some big putts by small margins and came out with what I consider a good score. Went out yesterday and shot 38 on the front nine. Four strokes better than my previous best. I was stoked. Seemed like everything was on song. Fluked two big putts to make birdies on both par 5’s. Never expected that I’d get so close to a par score. Shot 42 on the back nine, which included a double and a triple on the last two holes respectively. So close to breaking that 80 mark. I don’t expect to get another score like that for a while, but I won’t forget that front nine in a hurry. |

Topic: How did you all play this weekend? Played my club’s Open, my 1st time for a 2 day 36-hole event. Hcp 28 Day 1: Front 9 played 5 under handicap, 6 under after 12, then had 11 on the par 5, 15th hole – 3 hazards, 2 drops and a shank to top off a shocker for me. Managed to scramble a nett 3-under 66 picking up shots on the final 3 holes and get placed in C grade seeded group for day 2. Day 2: Front 9 played 1 over handicap terrible golf with topped tee shots on the 1st and 2nd holes but kept on the fairways most of the time. Back 9 was my best ever, fired 9 under handicap for a gross 89 cracking 90 for the 1st time for a nett 8 under 61. Won the C grade 2nd day event as well as the Open’s C grade best nett score with 11 under 127 total. My nett score was the best in all grades, lost 3 strokes off my handicap. |
