Topic: iseekgolf Golf Days / Brisbane golfers? Try this link Sarg. Joe Dante – 4 Magic Moves chapter 3 – Golf Grip You saw my tee shots today. They’re the direct result of this book. Can’t recommend it enough for beginners. |

Topic: iseekgolf Golf Days / Brisbane golfers? Yep, I second the thx to PGriff for organising. Really impressed with the Redcliffe course.Cheers to my playing partners Andrew and Brett. Was way happy with my round today also – best round I ever had; the course condition probably helped in that department. Will be at the next one. Cheers again |

Topic: iseekgolf Golf Days / Brisbane golfers? I agree, but I’ve never played there so I’ll try it once. If it’s rubbish they’ll never see me again, and if it’s brilliant they’ll still probably never see me again – $75 every weekend for golf, only if I was rolling in it. |

Topic: iseekgolf Golf Days / Brisbane golfers? Monday’s good for me. I would be interested. Btw, if anyone’s interested in playing Sunday in a comp, no handicap required but by playing you can get a golflink handicap, at Collonial, $75, with 40 other people, indicate your interest. Unfortunately can’t post the details because it’s not allowed in here; if anyone’s interested I’ll find some way to get you the relevant info. |

Topic: ISG Feedback / Post's link was removed? They’ve answered all my emails. And yes that email is no good because it bounced on me too. I’ve received all instructions for Sunday and they say they will welcome late entries because of cancellations so all I can think of is that you try again. |

Topic: ISG Feedback / Post's link was removed? Forget the site link you removed, wiping peoples words away is way more than a fair point. How hard is it leave a ‘this post was edited by an admin’ sentence in your clipboard for a quick ctrl-V paste. What you left in my post has only half its meaning left after the removal of the other paragraph, not to mention the other question I had in the removed paragraph that had nothing to do with the site. I respect your right to edit whatever you want from your own site but take some care. When you’re trying to communicate something, no matter how prosaic the subject, if half of it gets removed and what your trying to say gets warped as a consequence it doesn’t leave a good feeling. |

Topic: ISG Feedback / Post's link was removed? I can understand you don’t want commercial interests spamming the forums, I wouldn’t either, it’s just that that site is one of only a few organisations registered to provide handicaps in Queensland to social golfers (ie beginners) by the Australian Golf Union. It took me ages to find them and no wonder. Were you spammed by one person or many, because of course beginners will talk them up and try and tell others because there’s very few other options to get a handicap outside paying crap loads of money for a club membership. If you can’t make exceptions fair enough, but you really should look at leaving some indication that a post has been edited. Wiping clean parts of a post like it never existed does not indicate to me that you take editing seriously. |

Topic: ISG Feedback / Post's link was removed? Uh oh. I just posted a link to what I thought was very useful information for beginner golfers and it was removed? Why? Is there a rule about outside links or are you just trying to make it harder for newbies to get into the game? Can I even mention the link so an admin knows what I’m talking about? Am I in China or Australia? The post was in the iseekgolf golf days forum, in thread Brisbane Golfers? |

Just lock them in a cupboard and throw in a packet of dried biscuits :) No need to apologize ddasey. Did you book the 9am tee-off time? Do you need to be there to claim the time? I’m still up for it – I’ll play any course once. The less people the faster our round will be. Let us know what you think Janx and oforpar. |

Topic: iseekgolf Golf Days / Brisbane golfers? 3. b1_ I should be able to. And my usual question: does Pine Rivers GC have a range I can hit a few balls before-hand, or am I going to have to stop in at Nudgee again?
Flat left wrist will cure your slice Janx, that and no bend in your left arm on the backswing. Have a look at the picture of Tiger Woods on the the iseekgolf front page feature story; arm, wrist, back of hand, club face in perfect straight line. In fact look at any pro golfer swing on youtube, they’ve all got a flat left wrist, even those with unusual swings. Flat left wrist = accuracy; conservation of angular momentum (ie club head speed) = power. Correct grip would also help but I think you’ve got that already. |

Topic: iseekgolf Golf Days / Brisbane golfers? Thx for the game guys. Really helpful to be out on the course rather than at the driving range. Also good to be around others so you can swap tips and just generally get your bearings in the game. 106 for me. My excuses: I’m too used to the synthetic environment of the range. I need to improve hitting it off the deck and dealing with non-perfect lies, so sign me up for the next one. |

Topic: iseekgolf Golf Days / Brisbane golfers? By the way, I’ve been reading this free online book: 4 Magic Moves To Winning Golf by Joe Dante It’s good. Published in the 50’s but comparing the books contents to Tiger Woods swing it matches up. Apart from the early wrist break it’s all pretty standard. It definitely helped this noob nail down some basics like stance, ball position at address, grip, and, of course, the swing and how it works. After 1 week with my new improved swing I’m confident I can completely embarrass myself tomorrow, yeah! pumps fist in air. If anyone wants to change their swing before tomorrow you’re welcome to check out the link. |

Bribie should probably be up in the top five but I won’t move it until I’ve played it. That list is just net opinions. Take them with a grain of salt. For me they’re just a guide; I won’t judge anything until I’ve played it. Next weekend may be a bit far ahead to play a game of golf with complete strangers? :) At the moment I’m free next weekend but if there was one thing I would cancel on it would be a golf game with unknowns if something came up. Maybe finalize mid next week?. Who knows that club the most? Does it get busy on the weekend? How busy? It’ll just take someone to set a suitable time and everyone else can then jump on board. Btw, if this matters, I’m male 35 Architectural Drafter, cyclist dude. |

Congratulations! Hope she’s doing well. I’m easy on the venue and the time so I’ll let you guys sort that out – could be a conundrum there :). I’ve only ever played the back nine at Pacific. My knowledge of Brisbane courses is almost nonexistent – been in Brisbane just a few years, from Adelaide originally. It would be nice to go somewhere where there’s a practice area but not essential – I can always stop in at a driving range on the way, I definitely need to practice before tho :). I’d prefer paying the usual $30 for 18 but could go higher, probably not as high as $100+ tho. I’ve been doing some research on the net recently on Brisbane courses and these are the standouts apparently: Brookwater North Lakes Indooroopilly (west course better than east course) Brisbane Wynnum Pacific Keperra Windaroo Some other notables: Nudgee Gailes Redcliffe Bribie |
