Topic: iseekgolf Golf Days / Brisbane golfers?

I went to a clinic at Northlakes, paul recommend them, and he showed me a few thing’s, changed my grip and got me moving my weight back more as i kept most of it on my front foot. Went to the range today and hit the 3 wood and driver straight and with a decent amount of distance, for me anyway, so hopefully i’ll be able to finally hit the fairway instead of playing my second shot 100m from the tee and trying to find a gap between the trees to the right!! Hopefully by the time you come down again (or the next Brisbane day) i’ll be hitting it better and can provide a decent game.

If any brisbane guys are keen for a hit post it up i’ll organize the day just let me know if anyones interested. Was thinking we still have an offer from Ddasey at pine rivers (wouldn’t mind a hit there anyway DD if you still play midweek thurs of friday) or we could head out to nudgee closer Shawn and also not as far if Brett wants to travel up again.

Any interest post it up.

Topic: Golf Equipment / What comes 1st? clubs or lesson!

I got clubs first, cheap $350 set, then read up everything I could on here and have since had three 18 hole rounds and four 9 hole rounds in which time i’ve never finished under 100 or hit a straight drive.

I had my first lesson recently well it was a golf clinic and the pro showed me a few key things I was doing wrong and i just got back from the range tonight putting into practise what i’ve learned and hit my short irons really well, 7-hybrid 3 fairly average and 3 wood and driver….. well you couldn’t wipe the grin of my face about 20 balls between them and 1 duffed shot nice and straight a couple had the smallest of fades and even got one over the 200 hundred sign, i’m not the biggest of hitters so that was huge.

Since you have a set of clubs already that your familiar with i’d get a lesson and see what happens. If there’s anything really wrong with your clubs ie length the pro will probably pick it up.

Topic: Golf Equipment / Offset of Putter

Yep, if you read Scotty Camerons blurb about toe balancing, a genuine pendulum putting stroke will have the toe of the putter closing on you with an offset putter, hence ball goes left.
There is another model Scotty, can’tremember the name but it is a “face balanced”, some say “shaft balanced”, don’t know why, which is for pendulum stroke….maybe its the “Detour”.

I’s the offset and plumber’s neck the same?

He seems to say there is less toe flow with the plumbers neck style.

Bumping this back up as I was going to ask the same question.

I’ve only noticed it on the blade style putters but what is the function of the offset?

Topic: Golf Talk / Which club or range has the best short game practice area?

North lakes is the best i’ve been too. Caboolture is good too, you have to use your own balls on the practise fairway though.

I think the best range is the Big Easy at Carseldine. These are all on the northside wouldn’t have a clue about the southside

What do you die hard NRL fans think?

The Scrum….

The current form is the biggest joke ever. I used to like when the other team had a chance of winning it against the feed, now it looks like they barely put any effort into it.

I remember, at least I think i do, when QLD won against the feed and scored a try that won the match.

I heard today that the “experts” recon we will be paying $8 a litre by 2010.

They should put a solar hot water system on every house that would save a hell of a lot straight up.

The $9 was the thrower, logically it adds up but when you mention the $9 it’s funny how it changes. Just thought there may have been something I wasn’t getting.

3 MEN GO INTO A MOTEL. THE MAN BEHIND THE DESK SAID THE ROOM IS $30, SO EACH MAN PAID $10 AND WENT TO THE ROOM.

A WHILE LATER THE MAN BEHIND THE DESK REALIZED THE ROOM WAS ONLY $25, SO HE SENT THE BELLBOY TO THE 3 GUYS’ ROOM WITH $5.

ON THE WAY, THE BELLBOY COULDN’T FIGURE OUT HOW TO SPLIT $5 EVENLY BETWEEN 3 MEN, SO HE GAVE EACH MAN A $1 AND KEPT THE OTHER $2 FOR HIMSELF.

THIS MEANT THAT THE 3 MEN EACH PAID $9 FOR THE ROOM, WHICH IS A TOTAL OF $27, ADD THE $2 THAT THE BELLBOY KEPT = $29.

WHERE IS THE OTHER DOLLAR?

Northlakes – $2200 a year membership and their website sux… you’d think theys have one of the best!!

Political Correctness is doctrine fostered by a delusional minority and by the media, which holds forth the proposition it is entirely possible to pick up a turd by the clean end.

The old one was alot better, alot of the info has been taken down for some reason.
