Topic: Your Favourite Golf Courses / Top three reasons for supporting your home course?? Bribie Island Golf Club 1. Sandbelt course in Qld, good condition all year round 2. Cheap at only $650 a year 3. Tough in the wind with narrow fairways that are lined with trees in the sand |

Topic: Golf Talk / A Rank Decision I prefer to play members tracks over the resorts, hugely wide fairways and even bigger greens… They are not a ball striking contest as you can hit it anywhere and have a shot at a flag, even if it is cut tight behing a trap.. A decent members track will always test the better players more.. And they can’t be tricked up like the resorts either, that is a pet hate of mine.. |

Topic: Golf Talk / How did you all play this weekend? Played 2 stabelford rounds on the weekend, scored 33 and 30 points with about 15 fluffed chips shots in total, ball striking is great but when I miss a green almost a certain double as it takes me two chips to get onto the green and then I am no where near the hole.. very frustrating |

Topic: Your Favourite Golf Courses / Bris-Vegas Recliffe good track, Keppera is a good track as well … but for my money Bribie Island is the best value for money in SECnr…Best conditions all year round being a sand course, and doen’t need to worry about water as we have plenty on the island … And this year our subs are only $650 so even quite cheap for membership, is a good test for any level golfer specially when the wind gets up as it does most days |

Topic: Golf Equipment / What handicap will you finish 2007 on Fairways_Greens, I remember at my old course when I was playing pennants that our top five on combined handicap was +5… we had 2 x +2, 1x +1 and 2 scratch markers ( me and another ) and we didn’t play in that order either as some of us prefer match play to stroke play…. I love the head on approach of match play and play much better that way… and yes handicap means nothing when playing a tournament … we all start level and go from there |

Topic: Golf Talk / Golf Clubs in Qld I have to agree HISPL on that score.. I was a member at Keperra and it was clicky to put it in one word, most clubs are but I have found Bribie to be pleasant and the other members welcome new comers always .. Well and truely worth a visit if you can make, look me up and I will try to take you out for a hit |
