Topic: Ask Golf Guru - Golf Instruction / Keeping club face open Lately I am having problems with keeping the club face open causing some nasty snap hooks. I know the toe is facing upwards when arms parrallel to ground but I can feel it start to close at top of swing and through transition. Correct me if I’m wrong but I didn’t think the clubface could be educated. |

I think it will be the hindsight on a lost opportunity that hurts, regardless of his intent going in. |

Topic: Golf Talk / how many think "he" can do it? Damn. Now I’m going to be tired and depressed tomorrow. Spare a thought for Greg, he’ll spend the next 30 years wondering why he “came back” just to choke one last time. |

Topic: Golf Talk / how many think "he" can do it? Interesting, there was a 293 in 1963 at the US open, the winner was Julius Boros. So maybe, the only way for an old guy to win – is for all the young guys to fail to post a score! |

Topic: Golf Talk / how many think "he" can do it? There was a 290 at carnoustie in 1999. A 293 back in 1947 and a bunch over 300 before 1925 |

Well golf nut, you’ve blown me away – I just cannot fathom that anyone can honestly believe that the launchpad is anywhere near accurate. I apologise for offending you by assuming you were a sales rep. |

The swing analysis software that comes with the launchpad is useless and the accuracy of the unit itself is woeful. I would bet my left nut that anyone saying otherwise has a vested interest in launchpad sales. |

Topic: Golf Talk / Sydney Memberships? There are no attractive features on any of the holes and the only view you get from the course is of a few houses that surround. It’s just no fun. Some land is just not made for golf courses and Bardwell Park is such an example. I cannot believe that anyone could take driver on the 8th and call it “no fun” (VERY elevated tee, usually a little tail wind. The only place I have ever driven 275m) Cutting the corners on 16 and 17. Trying in vain to hold the 13th green (200m par 3, elevated tee, cliff on left and one of the nastiest sloping greens you’ll see) Carry 220m on the 2nd or face a blind second shot, possibly from the next fairway over. |

Topic: Golf Talk / Sydney Memberships?
People give it a bad rap – but I think it’s mostly because they don’t recognise the required course management. Stick a dam down the left of the fairway and choppers know not to hit there. At Bardwell, a sloping fairway doesn’t look as dangerous, but it can easily cost more than a water penalty. The moral is simple – play golf – recognise and avoid the trouble. If you need a course to allow you to play badly and still score well, you should try elsewhere. |

Topic: Golf Equipment / Bias Drivers Then again – this depends on how you define “the same fade” |

|
Topic: Golf Equipment / Bias Drivers A fade driver should hit a fade ever so slightly longer than the same fade from a normal driver. Weight distribution, line of compression and MOI all play a part. But IMHO, the difference would be less than a mishit, 1mm from the sweet spot. |
