Topic: Golf Talk / How did you all play this weekend?

Went double bogey, birdie, par,par,+5, par,par,par,par. Got to the back nine and gave up because it was too busy. I’ve got nothing against people wanting to learn to play golf but public courses need to be marshalled.

The Sharks never really turned up to play. They didn’t take any risks and they looked to be playing ‘by the numbers’. Storm were alot better than last week and will need to lift again for the GF. I’m gutted as the sharks are my team but they were outplayed allover the park.

Some of the wrestling techniques players are shown do toe the line bit. You don’t need to pull or twist a players head to get him to move which way you want. In the heat of battle alot of players go on second nature so only part of the technique comes out. In Cam’s case he did it the wrong way.
It takes years to perfect these movements to a point that they are second nature and the players are getting nowhere near that time to learn them.
The refereeing needs to be a little more diligent in calling held before tackles like that go too far.

But league is a contact sport and the players aren’t a bunch of faries.

It’s on one of their dvd’s Leighdog. It shows what the band does in their downtime and one of them plays golf. His ettiquite needs work but he has a nice lazy swing and makes good contact with the ball.

DO WHAT MAKES YOU HAPPY Glennbo. Sometimes you have to take a step back to take three steps forward. If you’ve been doing your job for so long you know your stuff so other work won’t be hard to come by. Unfortunately you get the lazy wannabe types in every job. they come unstuck eventually. Metal is all I really listen to. I like all types of metal just some more than others. metal is original, they write their own music and play their own instruments. It’s not for everyone but it is for me. I’ve been listening to it for 20 years now. And I like golf. But you won’t see me wearing metal stuff on the course. I keep that for me.

A person is shot dead in the act of breaking the law. Regardless of race or religion they broke the law. If he hadn’t broken the law there wouldn’t be a riot. He made his choice and paid the price. Race and religion had no part in it.

Channel 9 are even worse in WA. You can’t watch League on FOX until the telecast on Channel 9 (sydney ) is complete so you’re lucky to see the first game at 930pm sometimes. AFL is on either 7 or 10 so it doesn’t affect 9 at all but instead of league you have to watch some stupid CSI type show. They started to show NRL on a Sunday arvo but have canned that to put on wwf wrestling.

NRL will never get the popularity that AFL gets in WA but some !!! on the channel 9 programming dept won’t even give the small but loyal followers of NRL in WA a break.

Topic: Golf Talk / Playing in Pro-Ams

Never played in a pro-am but played numerous times with club pros, ex tour pros etc. It was usually every Friday for skins so there was no pressure and was playing to my hcp (10) most of the time. Needless to say even with my hcp i still had my arse handed to me by them. They just hit the ball where they want and were really good at scrambling. Alot of taking the piss and laughs were had too.

It’ll be all forgotten soon. The dogs have recruited well for next year and the last time a big name star did the dash it was forgotten quick enough. It’s sad for the game that this happens as fans will keep looking to other codes. There needs to be more loyalty in the NRL then the fans may stay more loyal.
