Hi Brissiejoe – doen’t seem to be anything organised at the moment – watch Sarg’s posts as he is usually keen for a game when he can get a break from family committments – what suburb are you in?

I might make it a Midday booking at Caboolture, wouldn’t mind playing it again as i’m thinking about joining while it’s cheap.

After playing Redcliffe last time i’m more than happy going there just let me know if you’d prefer.

Will you bring anyone I might have 1 extra not sure though.

Hey Rich, welcome to the forum keep an eye out here, a bit quite at the moment but we seem to be getting a game together every now and again. Hopefully on the 3rd.

oforpar i’ll check with the boss and make sure nothing’s on that weekend is a morning tee of good for you about 8.

We’ll see what interest we get if dd looks in we could go to pine rivers ($25) or if shawn and brett want to come we could try Nudgee ($35) otherwise hit Redcliffe or Caboolture i guess.

Hey lads,

I just wonted to register my interest in any Brisbane golf days.

I’m a high handicapper, just breaking 100, new to the country and live on the South side.

Would welcome the opportunity to play a round and make some new friends in the process.

Cheers
Rich

I went to a clinic at Northlakes, paul recommend them, and he showed me a few thing’s, changed my grip and got me moving my weight back more as i kept most of it on my front foot. Went to the range today and hit the 3 wood and driver straight and with a decent amount of distance, for me anyway, so hopefully i’ll be able to finally hit the fairway instead of playing my second shot 100m from the tee and trying to find a gap between the trees to the right!! Hopefully by the time you come down again (or the next Brisbane day) i’ll be hitting it better and can provide a decent game.

If any brisbane guys are keen for a hit post it up i’ll organize the day just let me know if anyones interested. Was thinking we still have an offer from Ddasey at pine rivers (wouldn’t mind a hit there anyway DD if you still play midweek thurs of friday) or we could head out to nudgee closer Shawn and also not as far if Brett wants to travel up again.

Any interest post it up.

Well done on the 119 sarg. Next target is to break 100. Don,t reckon it will take you long if you can get out to play a bit.

Try this link Sarg.

Joe Dante – 4 Magic Moves chapter 3 – Golf Grip

You saw my tee shots today. They’re the direct result of this book. Can’t recommend it enough for beginners.

Thanks Shawn, I had a read of the Golf School articles that arvo and checked out yours and realised how far I had my hands twisted right hopefully going to the range tomorrow night to test it but just with practice swings I feel like it’s going to fix that slice a little.

We should set down another date for about 4-6 weeks time. Maybe this time try out Nudgee or somewhere closer to the city since the last two have been a bit of a travel for the Valley dwellers and especially Brett coming up from the GC.

Brisbaneites post your thoughts.

Thanks to all who braved the weather and come out for a hit at Redcliffe. I’m glad that you enjoyed the course and the day. I had a ball, just wish I hit the front 9 as I did the back. 54 front, 42 back.

I’ll third thanking Paul for organising the day and also the condition of the course.

Brett and Shawn were good partners and shawn i’ll be reading the new golf school articles on grips and get it adjusted and see if I can’t tame that slice a little.

Pom ended up with 119 :-( should have been better just had a couple of blowout holes on the back nine, as I said above i need to get a bad slice under control with some of the longer clubs.

Yep, I second the thx to PGriff for organising.

Really impressed with the Redcliffe course.Cheers to my playing partners Andrew and Brett. Was way happy with my round today also – best round I ever had; the course condition probably helped in that department.

Will be at the next one.

Cheers again
Shawn
