Topic: Golf Talk / Getting a handicap other than joining a Club, options? Hey Cliff – see what happens when you give this ice pipe a rest. The world becomes a little clearer. |

Topic: Golf Talk / Golf Australia, did you know ? Clifmanley – quote – I DO have the background, the skills, the knowledge, intelligence and drive to actually DO something” – seems it comes with and expensive price tag. A couple of mill. Hey. Thats a third of the GA budget. Just to get your handicap nonsense sorted. Now we wouldn’t want to be paying good money to get good people would we. Just find a cheap club to join and get your official handicap that way. Should be able to get one for $100 then you can play in all the open day comps you like and be registered with Golf link. Now stop making stupid suggestions. |

Topic: Golf Talk / Golf Australia, did you know ? Cliffmanley You are a tosser. Instead of screaming at everyone why don’t you suggest a few things. I would like to know how can you possibly implement and police and handicapping system outside of the golf clubs. Lets face you are an idiot with no idea. |

Topic: Golf Talk / Golf Australia, did you know ? I think certain people on this thread – baz37 , whitednj to name a few have an agenda to push or axe to grind. Publish you make a lot of sense. Golf Australia have a tremendous role to play in Australia as the governing body. I don’t think people appreciate the work that goes on behind the scene, The Aussie Open, National Amateur, State Amateur, Development Squads, Media, etc etc. 6 mill would be so easy to burn. As for people who want a handicap without being a member, seriously how is this suppose to work. Golf access is just a token way to offer a social handicap. |

Topic: Golf Talk / Brisbane - McLeod Golf Club I have played at regularly at Oxley, McLeod, Gailes and Jindalee. Oxley is definitely the best layout and the most challenging. Gailes is very ordinary these days and IMO was always over rated as one of the best public courses in it hey day. Jindalee, is a pretty average 9 hole track and if it does not bother you that you only have to use your driver once then fine. Having said this Jindalee have a great social atmosphere after the game. McLeod is a well presented track, not at all hard from what I understand is very good value for money. Especially with the offer they are running atm. |

Topic: The Lounge / Should Nick D'Arcy go to the games? I think he shouldn’t go….. from what I hear the other guy started it. Just cause D’Ardy finished it shouldn’t make him the bad guy. |

Topic: Golf Talk / Pacific Harbour Membership? My personal view is that Pacific Harbour is overrated. Chrisal – i guess it depends where you live. If you live in Brisbane Bribie is too far to drive. So I guess Northlakes would be the choice for me. |

Topic: Golf Talk / GolfLink and GolfLink Mates IMO the quicker Golf Australia take back the ownership of Golf Link the better. There is seriously so much they could do with that site. They are so out dated. |

Topic: Golf Equipment / Lind Golf matt42s You can’t be serious about the .7mm. I bet every time you have a bad game you always blame the equipment. Think you need to spend more time practicing than worrying about your equipment. I can still shoot 1 or 2 over with my 5 year old Pings. I am sure they are all outta whack by now. Hey Brad, always a Ping lover but for what its worth, I would give your gear a go. |

Topic: Golf Talk / Our Club Needs a New Website I take your point Danz. Templets are fine and it certainly serves it purpose for what it costs. Especially for clubs on a budget. I think some clubs are way to fancy and pay way to much for their websites when it is not necessary. As long as you have the basics done properly ie, quality photos, contact pages, detailed directions, facilities etc The main thing for us is the back of house functionality that goes along with it. And what I mean by that is financials, member and public online bookings. |

Topic: Golf Talk / GolfWorks Gabba Sold Is that how you responded to your staff and customers in all those “numerous successful businesses you had” that mearly had a different opinion. I think we all know who the moron is. Don’t we everyone. Reiterating my point – how is it, that if Drummond staff are so bad and the equipment is so over priced that they the leading national chain. It’s just a question – not a statement |

Topic: Golf Talk / GolfWorks Gabba Sold I am with you Shanky. I am one of those people where it is not all about price. I don’t mind paying extra for good service. Milhouse’s comment where it is just about range and price obviously has never run a business. If you continue to play the price game in any business you ain’t gonna last long. And for what its worth, if Drummond are so expensive and so poor with their customers, why are they clearly the largest and most professional looking off course chain. Must be doing something right. that is one sure way to go out of business. |

Not quite sure what they are trying to achieve with the whole 9 hole golf. Maybe its another way of increasing the revenue for golf link. To get an official 9 hole golf handicap it will cost the clubs for the privilege. |

Topic: Golf Talk / Club Membership Database The point is, is for clubs to implement a system that represents the majority and not the minority. Also it’s not a case of one or the other. Give the members an option to receive their mail electronicaly or by snail. Even if it is only 50/50. It’s 50 less work and 50 less cost. |
